shareHe's Spanish.

Native American? Wtf?
He's a Spaniard. I.e. From SPAIN. Not a Hispanic.
When the Defecation hits the Oscillation.
Hispanic means Spanish. It refers to Hispania, which is the name given to what is now Spain and Portugal by the Romans. It's only used in America to denote a person's spanish ancestry. Look up the meaning of "inerudite".
shareMaybe in 200BC it did. Hispania doesn't exist.
Hispanic in a modern context means one of Latino or mixed European/Amerindian ancestry.
Spanish exclusively refers to a Spaniard.
Look up the meaning of ARCHAIC or IRRELEVANT.
Don't try and lecture me kiddo.
When the Defecation hits the Oscillation.
So are you saying that people who live in the area that was once called Hispania are not to be called Hispanic whilst those who live in America and are descended from those self same people are? Get real.
From the Oxford English Dictionary:
Hispanic adj. & n. 1. of or relating to Spain or to Spain and Portugal 2. of Spain and Spanish speaking countries. 3. a Spanish speaking person, one of Latin American descent, living in the U.S.
Consider yourself lectured.
...again.
You seem to get more vocal the more mistaken you are.
No one is refered to by the names you mentioned. Hispanic is not an archaic term and its use in reference to the Spain/Portugal is still used as well as the reference to Americans of Spanish Descent.
Your facts seem altogether very mixed. I'm British but in no way were my geographical ancestors Saxon.
"Utterly and verily"?
"Utterly and verily"?
Forgive me, I didn't realise you never completed highschool.

I'm getting more vocal as you're going further backward and refusing to listen to common logic here.
Hispania doesn't exist. When's the last time you saw a map of Europe with a region entitled "Hispania". Honestly... wtf.
Hence the term "Hispanic" is therefore defunct since the region Hispanics derive from no longer exists.
The same way me calling you a Saxon makes no sense, because the Saxons have ceased to exist as a people and Saxony as a nation as well.
Hispanic is overwhelmingly used to refer to Latin-speaking South Americans.
Spaniard is used overwhelmingly to refer to a Spanish person.
BTW: For your information, Modern Spaniards have absolutely little in common with the Celtic-Iberian tribes that inhabited the Iberian peninsula in Roman times.
When the Romans conquered "Hispania", they kicked out the Celtic/Iberian tribes and turned any remaining residents into Latin-speakers.
The area was then swept over by Vandals, Goths and Visigoths, all Germanic tribes who in combination with the Islamic Moors give the modern Spanish most of their genetic makeup.
Rendering your beloved term "Hispanic" even more ludicrous to use, suggesting that modern Spaniards are a Celtic people.
Despite the fact they speak a Latinic language and are overwhelmingly Catholic in faith.
I'm British but in no way were my geographical ancestors Saxon.
At one point, before the Norman invasion, the entire British Isles was overwhelmingly populated by the Germanic Saxons.
British people are overwhelmingly Anglo-Saxon genetically speaking, so some of your ancestors down the line would have been Saxon at some point.
