Just found this board!!

Hi I've been a JP fan for some time now and it's good to find somewhere to discuss his numerous talents!! Yes, I think he's gorgeous, he has an incredible voice and is one of the best actors of his generation!! My favourite film - arrgh, I hate choosing favourites - is probably Carrington as his performance is amazing but I also love Brazil! Jonathan is so versatile and just becomes the character that he's playing that most people don't recognise him as the same actor!!
I think Unconditional Love is a strange film but it's funny and the more I watch it the more I like it. Jonathan once again gives a 100% performance and is obviously enjoying himself playing Victor. I was looking forward to there being a soundtrack but sadly it looks as though it's not to be :(

I've been lucky enough to meet Jonathan and I agree with Fiorenze (sorry if I've spelt that wrongly) that he is a very gentle and pleasant man with no 'celebrity' air about him. I think he enjoys his 'anonymity' and doesn't want the problems that film star status brings - he can walk round London without people spotting him and that probably suits him!!

He has his fans and we KNOW he's 'Sir' Pryce :)

hope I haven't waffled too much.....

Liz

It's lovely chatting to anyone who appreciates Jonathan's talent, most of my friends hadn't heard of him but they've been 'educated' :) Very few people can disagree with the fact that he's a brilliant actor even if they can't see the 'phwoaar' factor!!
I count myself very lucky to have seen him on stage: a few performances of My Fair Lady but most recently the fascinating two-hander "A Reckoning". It's a very intense drama between father and daughter, and sitting very close to the stage, I was shocked at the anger that Jonathan produced from 'nowhere', he was so realistic that I felt frightened and uncomfortable as though I'd intruded on a real argument! I never once thought of him as Jonathan but a rather arrogant and sarcastic bully but then he turned this around so that you felt sorry for him. Superb acting!
I asked him how he produced such anger, did he have to psyche himself up for it etc? and he replied simply with that marvellous glint in his eye "oh, I'm just a horrible person" Lovely man!

I've just got back from a long day helping my daughter settle into her Student House - five boys lived in it before and you can imagine how messy they've left it! It was hard work but fun - now I'm ready for bed!

hope to talk to you all soon

Hi Carol
I'm not offended by the term 'Brit', I'm British so that's fine by me :) I know what you mean about Miss Saigon being slightly tarnished by the thought it SHOULD be Jonathan up there on the stage and not some 'impostor'!!

I'm not sure how widely available it is in the States but have you seen 'Very Annie Mary'? It's an 'offbeat' comedy and will probably appeal more to people who know the Welsh way of life but nevertheless it's a funny, heartwarming movie and Jonathan's acting is superb! His character has a stroke and the emotions he manages to convey through expression alone is amazing. He apparently based it all on his own experience with his father.

my two sons lives at home but my daughter will probably not move back in with us although her room's still waiting for her IF she wants it. It's handy as a store room though for all the essential junk items you simply have to keep even though you don't even remember what's there!

Don't worry, you only sound slightly raving but that's OK with me - I like mad people; they make sense :)

Hope you're enjoying your weekend
