She claims he did, he claims he didn't. Who knows who is lying?
He served his time, and was freed from prison as part of his plea bargain agreement. When the judge indicated he was going to ignore the plea bargain and throw him back in jail anyway, Polanski, wisely, fled the country.
We have no way of knowing what happened behind closed doors. You may believe he raped the girl, others may believe he didn't. What is fact is that he went to court, was sentenced, and served out his sentence. The only person who for sure was in the wrong was Judge Rittenband for violating the plea bargain.
I've read her side of it, and she doesn't paint him as a monster that held her down when she screamed, but he definitely fucked a 13 year old girl who never considered she could say no to an adult. He even apologized to her decades later for bringing this on her, without coming right out and admitting it. I agree he's served his time and the judge fucked up, but none of that should make what he did forgotten. He should be allowed to live his life and have that mistake be a part of who he is, but it is part of who he is. What's really fucked up, is how the people who use her as a figurehead for abuse are really the people who have ruined her life, per her own sentiments. They've never let her move on from it.

In Polanski's autobiography he admitted he had sex with her:
“We dried ourselves and each other. She said she was feeling better. Then, very gently, I began to kiss and caress her. After this had gone on for some time, I led her over to the couch. There was no doubt about her experience and lack of inhibition. She spread herself and I entered her. She wasn’t unresponsive.”
She was 13 at the time. That's rape. The only thing that falls into he said/she said are the allegations that he got her drunk and gave her drugs.

Wrong. As part of the plea bargain, he had report to a state prison for a 90-day psychiatric evaluation. He was released after 42 days. The judge was not satisfied with the psychiatric evaluation, calling it a 'whitewash'. He then informed Polanski's attorney that he didn't intend to follow the terms of the plea bargain, which called for only probation. (Which is not out of the ordinary - judges have to approve all plea bargains.) Polanski then fled the country. share
What Roman did was sick, but this young girl was no angel either. According to reports, she had a 21 year old boyfriend at the time. I would like to know what was with her parents allowing this. Why wasn't her mom there at the shoot? Most studios and artists demand parents or guardians be present. The legal system let her down, but this whole story is twisted.

He gave a 13 year old quaaludes and alcohol and then fucked her. She wasn't old enough to consent even if she hadn't been given the equivalent of a 70's roofie.
He enter a guilty plea so there is no claim by him that he didn't do it. He fucked a 13 year old after he knocked her on her ass with drugs and alcohol. If that isn't rape I don't know what is.
He didn't serve his time, the only time he served was pre-sentencing time where the system was doing a psych evaluation on him before the judge sentenced him. He then fled the country rather than find out what the sentence was, it could have been probation only could have been a few years, there is no want o know because the judge never had a chance to formally sentence him.
As for violating the plea bargain you have no clue what you are talking about. Plea bargain are not carved in stone, they are an agreement between the defense and prosecutor, when you enter into a plea agreement you are flat out told up front that while the prosecutor will present the agreement and tell the courts that they are okay with it, the judges always have the last word and can either accept it or reject it. While a judge will normally accept a plea agreement they do not always do that and can at their discretion change the terms. Now while Polanski may have thought that the judge was going to say fuck this agreement your ass is going to prison for X number of years, no reliable source has ever been found that shows that the judge was going to do that, and because the little cunt Polanski fled the country prior to the sentencing there is no record of what the sentence was going to be. You can now however add some more charges for fleeing the country and jumping bail. The little cunt should be in prison, I'm sure some understanding guys in prison can help to show him why it isn't good to be rape people with a little first hand training.

Plus, I for one, don't need any related experience to "know why its bad" etc. And not good by the way is a bit of an understatement. For instance stealing isn't good either. But child rape and one of adults is seen by many rightly as not only bad and wrong and immoral, but deeply EVIL and heinous. And I've been taught such things in childhood and already had a picture of morality painted in my world.
