If by 'lesser known' you are referring to non-Great Escape/Bond/Halloween roles, my favourites are Cul-de-Sac and Wake in Fright. In my alternative universe he'd have been Oscar nominated for the former, and have won for the latter.

Think I read somewhere that was one of Peter Falk's favourite episodes and Pleasence was one of his favourite guest stars.
Just saw him in Columbo.
He was good.
He was great in THX 1138 as a homosexual man paired up with Robert Duvall's aghast character. Lol. The state intended them to be a couple.
