I admit, I loved Bourne Identity..and Matt Damon played the role perfectly.
However, other than Bourne movies I can't stand his bad acting skills.
If I had to describe it I'd say it just looks like he shows up for work unprepared, only to have his assistant read him his lines off camera.

sharethat's a pretty funny way to describe his acting style and you're not wrong. it's kind of his shtick. the problem is the older he gets, the less it's an endearing quality. the flustered every-man unprepared for life's challenges but muddling through and figuring it out anyhow. super cool in your 20s and 30s. nobody wants to see a grown ass adult behaving that way. now they just seem stupid and pathetic. i think he pushed that angle about as far as he could with the Martian.

I wouldn’t put him up there with Pitt or DiCaprio, I simply think those guys have a bit more range but I do quite like Damon.
Then don't watch any movie he is in! Problem solved!
