Will he ever work in Hollywood again?

Seems like the me2 crowd would rather see him hung than work on another film.

If this metoo movement is to the point where people can be ruined just for speaking their opinion then it really has gotten ridiculous.

They don't call all the shots... Yet...

I'm a fan of him as an actor.
Not a fan at all of his smug douchebag politics.

However, for the life of me, I have no idea or understanding for what in the blue fuck he is being raked over the coals.
Sure, it worked like a charm. He was cowed into submission and is now toeing the line. The #metoos have taught him his proper place.

But seriously... what did he say that is so egregious?
That there are levels of bad behavior? That not all offensive behaviors are equal?

What is wrong about those statements? Our criminal codes are based on them. Punitive measures are different for exposing oneself to a woman than they are for sexual harassment in the workplace than they are to forceful kissing without permission than they are for rape.
To acknowledge this is not to say that it is appropriate to behave like a pig, but that not all pigs are equally piggish.

I can see, as Mr. Damon suggested, Louis CK having an easier path to redemption and forgiveness than Harvey Weinstein. Why? Because CK's behavior was not on the same level as Weinstein's. If the women CK offended find it in their hearts to forgive him for behaving as he did, I don't see why his life and career need to be ruined for all time.

I actually don't agree that he is smug about his politics. He's about as bland and neutrally political as Mark Wahlberg, who himself charades between looking conservative and Pro-US Military but spends most of his time ingratiating in the Hollywood glamour lifestyle. I do know that Matt openly supports Democratic candidates, but he's not a blowhard like other limousine Liberals (mainly women) who think they're the authority on what's right for America and why Trump's wrong.

The #metoo movement has been hijacked by the entertainment industry and they think that they can influence everyday America, but I think the blowback is already happening.

That's the most amazing part of all this. The epicenter of this disgusting behavior seems to be in the entertainment industry. Not because it doesn't take place anywhere else, but because it is so overt. In hollywood, so many deals are made in flesh. And yet, what do they do instead of looking inward? They point an accusing finger outward at the rest of us.
Take the Golden Globes. Oprah and the rest of this bunch who have all known and hung out with Weinstein and so many others like him for years and years, take the stage and lecture America. These people should get their own house in order and set an example, rather than telling the rest of us that we are on notice.
I don't know about you... but I've never asked a female subordinate of mine to watch me take a shower and proceeded to hamper her career if she refused. I've also never palled around with anyone who did. To be fair, I don't know that I would have spoken out if I had; but I would at least have the decency not to lecture anyone else about respect for women.

He's already working on Ocean's 8 and producing 3 movies in 2018, and he basically always did 2 or 3 movies a year. He will be fine.

I agree that the Metoo is just a man-hating witch hunt now. It looks like Damon will be okay. The phony outrage over his comments only lasted a few days, it seems to have blown over, good for him.
