Tim Burton’s Films Are Ultimately Always About Tim Burton, and That’s Just Fine

Tim Burton is hyperfixated on the idea of his image as a quirky outsider artist.

Well....there's a reason so many people like his films, particularly goths and non-conformists. They can totally identify with his characters, particularly involving being an oddball or not being able to fit in. Some can even identify with the "normal" people who are friends with the oddballs.

What's really cool is, he came up with some of the most original stories ever seen in the 80s and 90s. While it's true that he's done re-makes of movies that have come before, some of his most original stuff was the most memorable, because nobody had ever seen or done stories like that before. Fine examples would be films like "The Nightmare Before Christmas," "Edward Scissorhands," "Corpse Bride," and "Beetlejuice." Tim Burton also has had a strange mixture of humor and seriousness in his stories, and for him, it works.
