Can you leave the man alone?
My gosh. What he did might not have been right or it could have been an accident.
Can you lay off him. People love picking on people.

Exactly. These people need to give it a rest and get a life.

Huh?
Are people on here actually bothering him? Does he check Movie Chat and get sad?
shareThis isn't just about Baldwin. This story is important because working conditions and workplace safety standards are eroding in the US; this is a worst-case scenario in the headlines and I think it ought to be discussed for a long, long time. Something similar could happen at any workplace where dangerous materials are used, if an employer cuts corners, ignores safety standards, and gives incompetents responsibility for dangerous procedures... people get hurt or killed.
Because of Baldwin's celebrity status, this case will stay in the news, and as the lawsuits and appeals will stretch out for years and years, it's going to stay in the news. This is a good thing for society as a whole, everyone benefits from the reminder of what happens when you ignore safety procedures .
Exactly. This time it was an incident involving a gun. Next time it could be an electrocution on set or a set collapsing, or any number of other things. This time it was a movie set, next time it could happen anywhere (and has been happening long before this incident).
shareExcept that eroding safety standards aren't just a movie industry problem, every employer that ever tried to increase profits by ignoring workplace safety issues needs to take note of this worst-case scenario, so does every employee who's ever been asked to accept dangerous working conditions. This is a huge issue, I mean there are workplace safety issues in every industry and every country, and hardly anyone talks about it.
So no, I'm not going to leave Baldwin alone, as a producer of this film he was a negligent employer who expected the crew to put up with dangerous conditions because he was afraid of losing his profit margin.
Exactly. As unbelievably tragic as this is, the increased attention because a Hollywood star is involved will keep this discussion/dissection in the public eye far longer than would otherwise have happened. And maybe, just maybe, future lives will be saved because of it.
shareWell with the virus going to be around for awhile longer. People like Baldwin know that a movie will only sell for so much. They need to do all they can to make it at low cost or just retire.

Yes, it was probably an accident, meaning he probably didn't intend to shoot anyone. However, an accident which is due to negligence (pointing a gun at someone is always negligence unless they are threatening your life) and which results in someone's death is negligent homicide, which is a serious crime. The rules of gun safety are easy to follow and are based on common sense. Even if you only follow the primary rule (keep the gun pointed in a safe direction at all times) and ignore all the others, it will prevent accidental injuries or deaths.
He shot someone accidentally because HE POINTED A FIREARM AT A PERSON.
Stop pretending HE is some sort of victim here!
