Is his career over?
Even if it was accidental, the murder will follow him to his grave.
shareI think people who really like him have decided he wasn't at fault. In reality, there were a lot of people responsible for bringing things to this point, but he was the last person responsible for checking the gun, and he was responsible for pulling the trigger.
Was Matthew Broderick's career over when he killed that person while driving drunk? No. People who would blame Baldwin tend to have short memories.
The most telling point about where his career stands is the fact that he was the principal actor in a self-produced movie that was so cheap people were complaining about not getting paid on time and they cut corners on everything, including safety, which one should never cut corners on.
Assistant director involved in Alec Baldwin movie set shooting accused of allowing unsafe working conditions on Hulu's Into the Dark

According to court records, Rust movie first assistant director Dave Halls handed Baldwin the gun that the actor used to accidentally shoot and kill cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Before handing Baldwin the gun, Halls yelled "cold gun" to indicate that it was safe to use. Prop maker Maggie Goll says when she worked with Halls on the Hulu anthology series Into the Dark in 2019, alleging that he allowed an unsafe work environment. The job of the first assistant director is to ensure the safety of the set. "He did not maintain a safe working environment," Goll said in a detailed statement to NBC News. "Sets were almost always allowed to become increasingly claustrophobic, no established fire lanes, exits blocked ... safety meetings were nonexistent." Halls has yet to speak out on the Rust incident.
Baldwin is DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE because the crew had previously walked off the set due to safety concerns. He hired non-union, and inexperienced workers to save money. He is disgusting. Violence, abuse, and drama have followed his Narc ass for years and yet he keeps getting off because he is wealthy, kisses the rights asses, is part of the boys club, and spews the corporate political line on all issues. Hopefully this time he will do jail time and be forced to finally take responsibility; that will be a first.share
Not a murder if it's accidental
shareThere's no such thing as an accidental "murder." And he did nothing wrong, so why should his career be over?
shareBecause his name is associated with someone's death?! That's negative press.
shareIf he is in the insurance companies record as the boss on this movie. He will never be given clearance from them for coverage of another movie. This will take awhile for the lawsuits to get finished and he will be to old to start over.

(Reuters) - The theatrical and digital release of 'Flint: Who Can You Trust?', an environmental documentary narrated by Alec Baldwin, has been postponed, its director said, following the fatal shooting of a cinematographer on the set of the actor's movie 'Rust.'
This almost kind of reminds me of Val Kilmer losing his voice to throat cancer. What I mean is that Val Kilmer like Alec Baldwin, has had long history of being an asshole and treating people like shit. So when he finally has his "come to Jesus" moment you really don't know what to make out of it.
On one end, you feel sympathetic that he can't really do what he loves and his best at anymore and the fact that Val like Alec has a family that loves and cares about him regardless. But on the other end, there are likely some out there who have been wanting to gloat over his apparent "downfall" (especially at the expense of an innocent woman's life) since his chickens were finally "coming home to roost".
