Rest in Peace - Dead at 89

I love so much of what this guy did. He's one of those few actors that really could lift up a bad film.

Was really sad to hear this. Loved him in Freebie and the Bean and Edward Scissorhands. RIP

So sad to hear-- he was truly a magnificent actor, one of the few I would happily watch in anything, be it classic or crap. His performances in Wait Until Dark and The In-Laws are my absolute favorites of his.

reply

He was the one bright spot in the otherwise lackluster Stand Up Guys, outshining both Walken & Pacino in his somewhat brief role in the film.

RIP

May he rest in peace, and I'd like to thank him for all the good times! Well done, sir!

He was one of those actors who somehow made absolutely everything he didn more entertaining that another actor would have. He had the kind of comic timing and light touch that is so rare, that if it comes along once in a generation audiences are fortunate to get even that much. Cary Grant had it, Alan Arkin had it, and I thank them for it.

The only movie I ever saw him in was as the shill salesman in Glengarry Glen Ross.

reply

I liked him. RIP.
