Says she is voting for Trump again
KAG
shareSurely you mean SLAG
Oh that’s mean. Kirstie is alright. I don’t care who she wastes a vote on 👍
*shrugs* It's her vote not mine.
shareShe's decently well off and many of the wealthy would rather keep a few extra %'s than make sure other fellow Americans have dignified and humane lives.
Who needs a living wage, quality affordable healthcare and education, access to aid. She is only worth 40 million! Her grand villa she previously owned was only worth 12 million she needs to own at least 10 houses when many Americans cant even afford a closet
Wealthy living in Hollywood would get a lot richer with Biden and the Dems in power as they would remove the SALT deduction (which only really benefits the very rich living in high tax states).
https://thehill.com/policy/finance/507382-schumer-pushes-for-elimination-of-salt-deduction-cap-in-next-coronavirus
So Kirstie, a Hollywood millionaire, isn't doing this for the money. The democrats are running on an insane platform - they want to raise taxes for almost everyone else and small businesses, and only want to cut taxes for their wealthy friends in CA and NY. How do they get away with this? They lie about what they really want to do and the MSM helps them with the lie.
More surprising than Kirstie is that 50 cent (and probably Ice Cube) are voting for Trump
Hasn't the conservatives entire complaint been they will raise taxes for everyone and corporations and the dems just want to tax us to death?
You seem to be changing your tune now.
show evidence it'll only help lefty liberal elites in CA AND NY?
you seem to be making tonnes of ridiculous assumption. you cant have your cake and eat it
I don't understand the point you are trying to make. I am making no assumptions, just presenting verifiable facts. Be clearer please.
shareMy point is you guys have cried about How democrats just want to raise taxes and tax individuals who could invest it instead. And how horrible dems are for the economy because they just want to raise taxes. And now you are complaining that dems want to lower taxes.
cant have your cake and eat it
SO which is it?
Yes...they want to lower taxes, BUT ONLY FOR THE SUPER RICH THAT LIVE IN HIGH TAX STATES LIKE NY AND CA. They want to raise taxes for middle class folks like me (and I am assuming you). They want to raise taxes for small business owners (again, most small businesses are owned by middle class people, not billionaires).
How can you support that? Do you like handing your money over to tyrants and billionaires that just turn around and shit on you?
I see both parties as corporate whores.
The republicans are corporate whores to oil companies wallstreet
The dems are corporate whores with rainbow flags to pharmaceutical companies and others
Americas democracy is completely broken and stolen and controlled by the rich, corporations and elite. Meritocracy is broken and all the things that made americas middle class strong, and those that benefited from it before, have tried to burn the bridge behind them and get rid of those stuff because they don't want to pay bit more in tax.
tyrants is a strong word thrown out by conservatives to just about anything.
If you think the republican party is the answer to stand up to those billionaires, id like to get some of what you were smoking. Nor is the Democratic Party
The only one willing to stand up to them was Bernie Sanders. a man you probably despise.
You assume much about me that isn't true. I'm not a Republican, but they are tyrants
shareyes yes I know. you are a free thinking conservative, probably libertarian? Am I right? you guys are all the same.
shareYes, I am free thinking. I am a professional researcher, so I kinda need to be. What I think of you, and I don't mean it as an insult as it describes most people, is someone who has only a passing knowledge of the issues, the politicians, and associated entities (media, big tech, foreign influencers), and because of that lack of a deep understanding, you resort to sweeping generalizations - " ALL (insert group) are (insert descriptor)". You have probably learned more about the issues surrounding tax platforms with your brief exchange with me than you have from MSM, and that is an indictment against the media, not you.
yes you re "free thinking" because you sound like every other non party affiliating libertarian.. sigh....
LOL I went to school for political science but ya I only have a surface "what da MSM told me" understanding. And yet I guessed what you were? You are embarrassing. Please stop talking. You re every single conservative joke in one. You're a sheep kid. please dont reply.
stick to your Qanon conspiracies and 4chan
whats Qanon?
share"Wealthy living in Hollywood would get a lot richer with Biden and the Dems in power as they would remove the SALT deduction (which only really benefits the very rich living in high tax states). "
You have no understanding of the SALT tax. Trump is the one who removed the SALT deduction and only restored a little up to $10k. Middle-income people saw their taxes rise because they couldn't deduct their mortgage interest. Anyway, I'm laughing my backside off at the idiots in different SALT states who voted for Trump and are now paying much higher taxes under him. Some of those previously red areas have now become blue.
You are the one who doesn't understand what the SALT deduction is. Mortgage interest IS NOT STATE AND LOCAL TAX (SALT) and does not fall under this cap. Now local property taxes do, but that is just another byproduct of living in a high tax area/state.. The SALT cap is 10k, and it is pretty much insignificant at that level or above, until you get to individuals who are paying A LOT in SALT taxes (those who live in mansions and make millions a year). In other words, the people who back Schumer, and that is why he is trying to get the SALT cap removed, while at the same time raising the taxes for the middle class.
shareNot only the rich.
"Sixteen percent of tax filers with income between $20,000 and $50,000 claimed the SALT deduction in 2017, compared to 76 percent for tax filers with income between $100,000 and $200,000 and over 90 percent of tax filers with income above $200,000. Tax filers with income above $100,000 were 18 percent of all tax filers, but accounted for about 78 percent of the total dollar amount of SALT deductions reported. The average claim in this group was of about $22,000."
https://www.taxpolicycenter.org/briefing-book/how-does-deduction-state-and-local-taxes-work
I know plenty of middle-class people in Republican suburbs who used the SALT deductions and are fuming now. A middle-class working couple with a combination income could easily earn over $100k. Another thing is many middle-class people have a two-family house or a second home in which they rent. They ended up paying taxes instead of receiving a refund.
I don't see how your quoted text supports the point you are trying to make. Yes, middle class people pay SALT taxes and they can claim the deduction for those SALT taxes on their federal returns. Now, the vast majority of those middle class folks (and everyone in the 20k - 50k range) will be able to deduct ALL of their SALT taxes. The only group in your cited text that has SALT taxes where this issue becomes meaningful and they won't be able to deduct all of most of their SALT taxes are those making over 100k (and this value is skewed by those making millions in a year and live in mansions they pay exorbitant taxes on).
Let me be crystal clear on this - Removing this cap really only benefits very high income people in states with high taxes. What I would like is for you to explain to me how you can be for cutting taxes for the top 1% and also for raising taxes on the middle class and small business owners (who also tend to be middle class). These people have already been decimated by the economic downturn caused by Covid, and these tax hikes right after that are just cruel IMO. I am assuming you are voting for the democrats and this is exactly what they want to do.
.
"The impact is keenly felt by middle-class homeowners who live in towns with high property taxes, which some told CBS MoneyWatch they choose for their great public schools.
Making it worse, they say, is a perception that the SALT deduction cap is only hitting wealthy families, which they say isn't accurate.
"Every county in my state, but one, had an average SALT tax deduction that was over $10,000. That means average people are suffering," Rep. Bill Pascrell, a Democrat representing New Jersey.
In Fawcett's case, her family has combined annual property and local taxes of about $27,000. She describes her house as modest, with two bathrooms and three bedrooms, and located on a small piece of property. The new tax law means they are paying $17,000 in taxes they can't deduct from their federal return filed with the Internal Revenue Service.
"Last year we had a refund of about $1,000 from federal," she said. "Our accountant said we definitely will owe $5,000, minimum, but it could be more than that."
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/tax-returns-2019-salt-deduction-cap-middle-class-homeowners-hit-by-the-new-tax-law/
You're basing income on where you live. $3,000 a month rent is considered affordable housing in places like NYC. You have to remember the cost of living is much higher in those states.
$20k is not middle-class. It's poor.
$40-$50K is lower middle-class.
$100K is not the top 1%. It's top 10% and is considered upper middle-income.
A middle-income person can easily reach the $10K SALT max. My state & local taxes are very close to it. If I owned a house, than I would easily be over the max.
First of all, you believe ALL people living in places like NY, NJ or CA are Democrats. There are many Republicans living in suburban and rural areas. Suburbs tend to have higher property taxes than cities, too. Like I said, they shot themselves in the foot by voting for Trump since their taxes went up.
I'm not sure what you mean by higher taxes. Removing the SALT limit would lower taxes for the middle-class.
NY, NJ and other blue states pay more in federal states than they receive while poorer red states take much more than they pay. I believe red states should support themselves instead of leaching off blue states they hate so much. They're ingrates.
Rep. Bill Pascrell, a Democrat representing NEW JERSEY. NJ has some of the highest taxes in the country and has the third highest average income in the country with a mean income of $84k per year, so it is a poor example of "average" americans. Not to mention that a lot of the super-rich that work on Wall Street also live in NJ and they skew the data. Throw out those outliers and the mean SALT deduction for most of even NJ counties fall below 10K. I would estimate that 90% of counties across the U.S. have an average SALT deduction that falls below the cap, and if you trim super-rich outliers, then probably 98% of all counties in the U.S. have a mean deduction that falls below 10k.
And keep in mind that most that are over the cap are just barely over and the amount added to their federal taxes is insignificant. Do you know who really benefits? The super-rich. Those who make millions (or even billions) in a year, and live in expensive mansions they pay exorbitant property taxes that live in states with high income taxes (like NY, NJ, CA). They can end up paying in millions in SALT taxes every year, and if they can't deduct that on their federal returns, it results in their federal tax bill being raises by potentially millions.
The article you cited is an example of the mainstream media telling you half-truths in order to shape your opinion, and why? Well, who owns these media outlets? The super-rich. In other words, the same people that will benefit greatly from removing the SALT cap. I would listen to the argument for removing the cap, but not when they are also talking about raising the marginal rates for middle class earners, which is exactly what they are planning to do..
https://thehill.com/opinion/white-house/504536-bidens-record-setting-tax-increases-will-take-your-money-and-your-job
I hope you have learned some things from our discussion here. You certainly seem to have a better understanding of SALT taxes and the federal deduction now than when you first responded to me.
Your source has a strong right-wing bias therefore the article is not credible. Furthermore, it has nothing to do with our discussion about SALT.
Your problem is that you're opinion about SALT is based on your own biases and personal prejudices instead of reality. My information about SALT is based on my personal experience and those of middle-class colleagues who saw their tax increase because of Trump's policy. The rich are hurt by it, but so are the middle-class.
How are Republicans “tyrants”? They’re not forcing masks, lockdowns, social distancing.... Above all, they didn’t censor the Hunter Biden scandal on Facebook and Twitter.... That’s the left that did all of this. The Soviet Union would be proud!
shareI was referring to democrats as tyrants as they are the ones forcing us to close our businesses, lose our jobs and never leave the house without wearing some face diaper over some virus that isn't much more dangerous than the common flu (I've had Covid, so I am speaking from experience). For those under 70 with no underlying conditions, the chance of death is essentially 0%.
Now let me be clear - I am not a fan of Establishment republicans either. GWB was happy to start wars based on lies, ship American jobs overseas, and let just anybody walk across our border. Fuck that guy and his dad. John Mccain was every bit the war monger Bush was (and so was Obama, and the fact he won a Nobel Peace Prize is laughable). Outside of maybe a select few, I am not a fan of any career politician that has been in office long enough to be corrupted (Biden, Pelosi, McConnell, etc.).
I do support some of the fresh new faces, and they tend to be Republican. I really like Kimberly Klacik in Maryland, Shelley Luther in Texas, and John James in Michigan. Hard to support a modern democrat because the party has become so top-down and forces members to vote how Pelosi or Schumer want them to, so you aren't really voting for the candidate, but the party.
220,000 dead Americans from covid. Amazing that you believe it's a nothing-burger. Obviously, the Republican Party is no longer pro-life.
shareWhy are you repeating Russian propaganda? What is wrong with you?
shareThe highlight of her pathetic career was in 1983 when she was on an episode of Love Boat. Major star? More like pathetic senile hag, and a Trumpee to boot. Eww!
shareTHAT WAS PRETTY HARSH...YOU REALLY SHOULDNT REVEL IN MAKING YOURSELF SOUND SO PITIFUL.
shareMarxist proving they are hateful bigots again!
shareOn twitter all the trekkies (and trek actors) have now disowned her as saavik .she's been de-saavik'd and Robin Curtis is now considered the best and 'only' saavik after 36 years of everyone moaning that Alley should've been saavik in Trek III 😄
share😂😂
shareLast I heard, this is a democracy, unfortunately for the liberals..... Good for her!
shareShe shouldn't need to apologize or explain herself. Politics are very personal...they are based on each person's own personal values, beliefs and opinions. No one person's opinion is any more "correct" than any others. In other words, what kind of doucebag would criticize her...simply because she has a different opinion than theirs? Not surprised, though. Typical weasel behavior.
I'm amazed anyone still walks lock-step with groupthink on one "side" or the other. As an Independent, I judge each issue on its own merits, objectively. When people lump themselves on the Left or the Right, they have a bias, and generally are not good at being objective. People who can't be objective...and reasonable about the grey area in the middle...lose a lot of credibility with me and I tend to tune them right out. Politics bring out the weasel db in most people...and most people are just not good about talking about them. Look at all the idiots on FB, declaring their politics as if their opinions are the single...only...correct...answer. How arrogant. You're not going to talk anyone out of their own personal beliefs and talk them into yours. All you'll succeed in doing....is alienating half the people you know. Friends...family...clients....potential clients........
If anyone enters a political discussion, they should begin with: "This is just my take on it. I realize this is just my opinion...no more right or wrong than yours'....and I'd be interested in hearing your take on it as well."
Alas, this will never happen.
what does a democracy have to do with ppl not liking her comment? do you even know what democracy means?
shareI’m just saying liberals are without a doubt the most intolerant people in the world! Yes, I do know what a democracy is....Do you?
shareclearly you don't If you confused being a democracy with "having a right to free speech". I went to school for this kid. Please dont project your clear ignorance on me.
shareI went to school for this kid.
LMAO...OK PROFESSOR INTERNET.
BTW...DID YOU GET THAT KID,OR DID HE RUN AWAY SCREAMING?
Yes a 4 year degree in political science. How could anyone every attain one of those? that's impossible!
The person confused democracy with a right.. It's pretty embarrassing. And now you are here begging for attention. Good doggy.
AWW...HIM THINKS HIM SMART AND FUNNY...CONGRATS ON YOUR USELESS DEGREE.WHAT HAPPENED,WAS ART HISTORY TOO HARD?
shareAre you okay? you are going crazy now after I took you down. good doggy wants more attention
shareYEAH...THAT MAKES SENSE.🙄
share“Kid”? Shove it up your ass! Who the fuck are you? “I went to school for this kid”....Well, good for you! I never said anything about free speech.... But, since you brought up free speech, why does the left want to limit free speech?
shareYaa you sound incredibly ignorant and don't know anything on the subject. What conspiracy fringe right wing sites you read all that on?
shareWhy are liberals....like you, unable to have a mature conversation without insults???
sharecant argue with simpletons. Sorry
shareI thought the same thing! Have fun with another 4 years of President Trump!
shareI agree he will win. bet that caught you off guard simpleton? care to try again kid?
shareNo, cocksucker! You liberals have given me my comedy fill for the night!
shareYes it is funny in a tragic sort of way your ignorance of basic definitions. And how triggered you are. You should be careful your blood pressure is prob off the charts.
"shove it up your ass"
"C*&*sucker"
I dont judge at all.. but im starting to notice a trend.. would you like to come out yet?
Oh get off it !! pubs have been shaming and judging people for decades while jokers like the Falwells follow some hedonist lifestyle. Dems have worked hard to represent the under-represented, the hard working union members, the minimum wage workers, the immigrants looking for opportunity. pubs just encourage big business to maximize profits, leave the country if they have to, and claim it's Good For America. Deceitful and disgusting.
shareShe is a cultist. Fell for Scientology, so no wonder she fell for maga too. Eternal Stupidity of the Susceptible Mind.
shareI don't agree with her choice of president but that is her right as an American.
shareDo you notice how it's the left who are completely intolerant of what others choose?
The media, hollyweird, academia, silicon valley are all forcing this PC agenda.
And if you go against them in these fields you are violently cast out.
Very scary mentally and their visions of the future are even more scary
