What was his last GREAT movie?

2008, he started his 'direct to video' career, and besides the Expendables movies, I don't know what there was of worth. There was a Die Hard movie too, but I'm not a big fan of that franchise.

Anything stand out for you?

reply

I enjoyed the Death Wish remake and thought Bruce did a good job in the role.

reply

Not really, his huge stuff is all in the 90s

reply

His late 80s & 90s work for sure! Despite making so many shit movies in the 90s omg looking back at that drek.

reply

Die Hard.

Lucky Number Slevin

reply

Indeed! Such a great film.

reply

Yep. It was all down hill from there.

reply

So he didn't do anything of merit after his breakthrough role?

reply

I can't think of much I liked after Die Hard.

reply

I liked "The Jackal" and "The Fifth Element".

I think Looper was the last one that I specifically watched to see the classic Bruce Willis character. I really think we’re experiencing a passing of the torch of a generation of actors like audiences experienced when the old 1930s - 1940s generation of superstars faded away

reply

I liked 'Looper' a lot; however, the story is problematic regarding how travel and its changes occurred on screen.

reply

I think every time travel movie is like that.

reply

That's fair.

reply

Except that now there is nobody to pass the torch to.

Death Wish wasn't horrible, but RED had all the snap and humor we've come to expect from him. And quite an ensemble!

reply

I have both REDs in my library.

reply

Me, too. But I hardly ever watch RED2. If I hadn't the first one to compare it to, I might not be so down on it.
