At what point did he become a jerk and phone in performances?

Lost count on the amount of stories where he is accused of being a jerk and hard to work with. I also cannot remember the last time he seemed invested or cared about his performance. Now he seems to mostly do direct to DVD crap that he is barely in (his scenes are short and spread apart. Also he has lots of scenes that feature his double with his face obscured with terrible ADR).

When he first saw a camera.

I think the rot really set in around 2009/10 Surrogates, Cop Out, Expendables, Red era and then just a year later he dipped into the STDVD arena (but was still primarily theatre based until 2015) - a prelude to the stdvd/VoD King that he now is (taking the crown from the likes of one time cinema stars JCVD, Dolph, StevenSeagal who'd being doing those stvhs movies back in the late 90s early 00s days.. also there's Cage/Travolta but Bruce edges them with the sheer volume of his output )

I honestly lost track of the amount of movies Willis does, because he does so much straight to DVD junk. A lot of the times I have looked up the movies and it says he shot all his scenes in one or two days. With Seagal, I get it, because of his attitude, huge ego, lack of acting, and terrible stories in his movies, it's the only work he can get. Cage is strictly due to financial reasons, however I would of thought he had those straightened out after all the movies and years. Willis does not have financial problems, so it seems strange he is going the straight to DVD route, as he can more likely than not make two huge movies a year and make boatloads more money.

Looking at his filmography I’d say he started phoning it in after “Tears of the Sun” 2003. Then seemed to give a shit again for “Sin City” 2005, but everything from then till now he’s just not given a shit.
