He is deemed white and toxic !

reply

Rose Locke is white so its more about money vs race. If she had been black, Sly would have been toxic.

Starting to think the problem is on Taylor Sheridan's end. Nobody likes working with him or his people.

Sylvester Stallone Accused of Creating ‘Toxic Environment’ on Atlanta Set of ‘Tulsa King’
https://variety.com/2024/tv/news/sylvester-stallone-tulsa-king-mistreating-extras-1235964689/

The claims against Stallone that sparked discussion among background actors were ampified on social media by TV writer Julie Benson (“Star Trek: Prodigy”). On April 8, Benson posted two screenshots on X and wrote: “Got this disturbing news from my Atlanta friend who’s background on Tulsa King this wk. Casting agent quit because she was so disgusted. My friend is feeling anxious about working now.@TheSlyStallone what do you have to say for yourself, sir? Beyond disappointed, I’m livid.”

“At the end of the day I resigned because it was a clear toxic environment that I was not comfortable putting myself or background artists in,” Locke wrote. She then apologized to the email’s recipients, and included her phone number to solicit information about anything people experienced or “saw or heard. I will be sending the info to HR.”

If productions are cancelled every time someone's feelings get hurt, any creative edge or willingness to push boundaries will disappear. Making movies and TV shows is not a normal job and shouldn't be. The industry attracts - and thrives on - oddballs, eccentrics and extreme personalities. If this trend continues, innovation will suffer.

It's hard not to lay the blame at the feet of (a minority of) women. They enter industries or work environments created by men then insist on changing everything to suit themselves. Anyone who opposes them is vilified and instantly convicted in the court of public opinion. It reeks of entitlement.

Edit: And of course the word "toxic" makes an appearance. Nowadays it seems to mean "offensive to me but in a way that I'm not prepared to actually describe". See also "problematic".

Kowalksi, can't you admit there's a problem here? You love movies, don't you? Do you really believe any male in this day and age is intentionally behaving badly at any work site in any business anywhere???

reply

I BELIEVE A LOT OF THEM ARE...EGO + PENIS + FAME = POOR CHOICES.

reply

How to say a lot without saying anything. The worst allegation in the Variety link is that Stallone called a group of people "ugly." Not even an individual person, but a group. And who knows if that is even true.

This sounds like much ado about nothing.

reply

Hopefully this goes away if he pay her $20mil as a compensation. That would be fair.

The director, naturally, "denied" any of this happening, even though there were a number of witnesses. What director that no one has ever heard of is going to endanger their career by supporting extra actors?

reply

People love throwing buzzwords around. Surprised they didn't call him an incel.

reply

Background actors are not professionals and are paid nothing. It’s not unlikely that senior actors tell them to get in line.

reply

long overdue

reply

Why ?
It’s my understanding that Stallone has been chill since 2000 and prima Donna days are long gone.

reply

he's a jerk, nothing criminal , not sure why news, would anyone go to press and say their employer is awesome
