Did the slap hurt his career ?

He he loose work over it ?

Yes, I just look at his IMDB page, he has no movie in near future. His latest movie is Emancipation, but that was shot before the slap. Right now he has just four movie in "production" or "pre-production".

It's super weird, because he used to release a movie per year, sometime even two movies in one year.

Will Smith's career was already on a downtrend to start with. I mean, he hadn't acted in any blockbusters in nearly 15 years, was in several flops and some true-story-type historical flicks that people have mostly forgotten about, and the arrogant ass apparently was too good to star in the new Independence Day film, causing it to not be the same without him in it.

Not to mention the dipshit had been cuckolded publicly by his bitch of a wife for years, and then pulled this stupid stunt to try and seem more like a big, tough man, and yet it backfired spectacularly. So yeah, I have a feeling it would be better if he got divorced and retired from acting.

What really pisses me off is, if it weren't for Australia and Japan's uncensored broadcasts of the Oscars, we would have never known about the slap at all. It's very telling when Hollyweird and Europe try covering for celebrities whose careers and reputations are fading.

He's kinda where he was before the slap. Already box office poison and having to fund his own projects, which are ALL vanity projects. Luckily he's made enough garbage cash-grab sequels that he can afford to fund more and more of his projects, so technically, he might not be out of work, but no one is really looking to hire him. He should take some tips, notes, advice from Sandler and just follow his business model of funding your projects with product placements, and work with your friends/nepo babies in exotic locations while hiring a hot chick, WAY out of your league, as your wife.

Over time it has changed my view of him. I can't watch movies with him and not think about how he slapped Chris Rock & went on a tirade.

The slap definitely hurt his career and came off as very hypocritical for both him along with his wife who's apparently banged his friend, but also, laughed at Rock's joke before giving Will that "No pussy for you unless you defend my Honor" look and the rest is History.. If I were Smith, I'd probably have to lay low for at least 10 Years before resurfacing..

Ya, dude has become a joke. There wasn't anything malicious about the joke.

Shoulda dealt with that shit behind the scenes & stuff.

Now he'll be forever known as Jada's lil cuck-boy.

I do think it hurt his career and the way the public sees him. In some ways, I feel bad because I truly believe he's being emotionally abused by his wife, and as the saying goes, "hurt people hurt people." In Smith's case, the "hurt" manifested in him physically assaulting Chris Rock, which was uncalled for. He needs to be held responsible for his actions, so if his career suffers because of it, perhaps it's deserved.

However, having been in bad relationships myself and knowing others who have been in similar situations, I empathize with him and hope he gets some help and gets out of his marriage.

I still think that he is in a better place than where Wesley Snipes was when he came out of prison.
