I have been seeing many hateful posts about her on this board. I don't live in the US, and I purely like Whoopi based on the movies she acted in such as sister act, ghost, lion king, etc. but why does everyone seem to hate on her? She seems like a nice person even outside of her work. Saw videos of her giving nice tributes to robin williams and patrick swayze. Plus, she also seemed genuinely moved by this mildly autistic German guy's speech for her during a star trek convention in Germany. So, why all the hate? I am sorry since I am not aware of any wrongdoings that she might have done. This is merely me asking from an outsider's point of view!

She said that a 30ish year old man drugging and raping a 13 year old girl "isn't rape rape". It's on video. It's been washed from youtube many times but it is probably there in some form still today.

You're very amussing, Jake. With the exception of talk radio and Fox news, pretty much the entire media is one big progressive lovefest. Don't believe it? Watch the View. See how Whoopi treats conservative guests vs how she treats those on the left. This has nothing to do with gender, by the way. Conservative women are treated just the same.

Wuchy if you are conservative you have no right talking about "moral". Conservatives put Trump in power, the most corrupt politician, make that the most corrupt person, to ever hold office. A cheating con man always in it for himself and no one else. He let 400.000 people die on his watch because he feared any action against Corona would make him "look bad". He tried to cheat in the 2020 election and sent his demented troops to storm the Capitol. And you "moral" suckers are cheering him on. So shut it and go back to the hole you came from.

Trump is a moderate, Trump made the vast majority of American’s lives better. The DemoKKKrats are a bunch of radical extremists and in one year they have single-handedly fucked up all of the progress Trump made in saving us from Obama’s disaster.

I don't know why Whoopie hates her country. I don't know why Whoopie has so much hate in her heart for anti-slavery Republicans. Perhaps she's ignorant or just plain dumb [she's not even smart enough to comprehend that her beloved Democrats founded the KKK]. Regardless, she's clearly intolerant of anyone who doesn't share her beliefs, which is typical of Democrats.

She’s not funny and she’s, let’s face it, ugly; also, abrasive. Other than that, she’s mediocre. She also got ‘WAY too much undeserved attention back in her prime time.

She presented herself as a stand-up comic, and it is on that basis that she should be judged. Her social and political views do not matter. That is the Intentional Fallacy in art criticism. It doesn’t matter what the artist intended, no matter how noble, admirable and/or whatever else you think that intent may be. What matters is the result. She did not make me laugh is the result; so, not hate, but boredom with the unjustified attention that she received back when she was perceived as being someone who mattered.

Oh c'mon, she hasn't "presented herself" as a stand up comedian for decades. Prior to The View I always saw her as an actress, and a pretty good one at that too.

She started in stand-up, bub. I saw her, and she was terrible. I remember her resume. You don’t. That was her foundation, and it was profoundly flawed. A bad foundation leads to a shaky building. Of course she left stand-up, fled from it, in fact. She was awful.
