Best Actor Ever
In my opinion he is the best actor of all time. No one will ever be as good. He has something god-given. A natural acting talent.

shareHENRY FONDA,PAUL NEWMAN,HUMPHREY BOGART,STEVE MCQUEEN,TOM HANKS,DENZEL,LAWRENCE OLIVIER,SPENCER TRACY,...I COULD KEEP GOING...SHIT EVEN A GUY LIKE SAM ROCKWELL IS MORE TALENTED THAN CRUISE...WHAT CRUISE HAS IS A NATURAL CHARISMA THAT CARRIES HIM VERY FAR,COUPLED WITH THE FACT HE IS A DAMN FINE ACTOR...STAR...BUT BEST...EVER?...NO WAY JOSE.
shareKowalski, amazing list.
Paul Newman had the best career Hollywood ever saw. Along with Burt Lancaster and Dustin Hoffman. When it comes to the ratio of great films they have in their filmography.
Henry Fonda is great too, along with Jimmy Stewart of course. Jimmy is perhaps my favorite actor of all time.
Steve McQueen is also near the top.
When it comes to Tom Cruise he is one of the best. Having maintained high artistic integrity along with popular success. He has made mostly stellar films -- with very few underrated films in his filmography. Far and Away and Legend being the only two that comes to mind. Eyes Wide Shut used to be underrated, but people seem to love it now.
I agree with all of your picks and would add Robert Redford, Anthony Hopkins, Dustin Hoffman, Josh Brolin. I love Sam Rockwell!
shareHonestly, the list could go on and on and on...
Out of curiosity who do you consider to be the single greatest actor EVER?
PAUL NEWMAN FOR SKILL...STEVE MCQUEEN FOR PURE CHARISMA...BUT FONDA IS REAL CLOSE AT THIRD.
shareInteresting. I wonder if you are the same age as my parents because those are their three favorites :) My dad was also very fond of John Wayne.
I need to watch some more classics.
I OWN EVERY JOHN WAYNE MOVIE AVAILABLE...BIG FAN...I'M 39.
shareNice! I love to see younger people enjoying classics! It's sad to see them restrict themselves to just what's on during their lifetimes. I am 50 and shamefully have not even seen Casablanca or Gone With The Wind. So ashamed. But, I have started my collection and as soon as I have a day off I am watching :)
MY PHYSICAL MEDIA COLLECTION IS SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 20 AND 30 THOUSAND TITLES...MY DAUGHTER AND I ARE CURRENTLY CONVERTING MY 3 CAR DUTCH BARN'S ATTIC INTO A MEDIA LIBRARY...I GREW UP IN VIDEO STORES...I RENTED EVERYTHING...AND IT HAS JUST KEPT GOING.
shareWow! That is quite a collection! I think I'm at about 2-3000 titles and that's DVD and VHS. We still have a VHS player 😁 We have probably 500 Blu-Ray titles and have not yet purchased anything 4k including our TV.
Sounds like it will be a fantastic media room! I'm jealous 😊
YEAH...MY COLLECTION IS VHS,DVD AND BLU RAY...I THINK 4K IS AN UNNEEDED GIMMICK...MY COMPONENT CABINET CURENTLY FEATURES 6 BLU RAY PLAYERS,3 VHS PLAYERS AND AN HD-DVD PLAYER...ALL SONY EXCEPT THE HD-DVD.
shareWow! That is an amazing setup! You sir are a true movie buff 😉 And I thought I was for still having a VCR, lol.
I agree with you, we are in no rush to buy 4K anything until we absolutely need it.
I don't think it is quite as unneeded as the whole 3D TV fiasco from a few years back though. So many people ran to buy those tv's and had their choice of maybe 100 movies, lol. So ridiculous.
Maybe the best baby boomer actor, but even then...you have to compare what he did with the sheer range of Eric Stoltz in terms of accents and being able to convey emotion with just the eyes alone (i.e. Peter Bogdanovich's Mask).
shareJust cause a man is attractive and beautiful doesn’t mean he can’t have talent.
