Why has he not won an Oscar???

Funny how Hollywood snubs some of the best! He has been in some great Oscar winning movies, and has made some tremendous performances, but still has not got one for himself. He is still one of the biggest box office draws, and one of the most sought after actors in Hollywood, so why do you guys think he has never won an Oscar?

reply

Everyone hates this cawksucker!..he's an insane Scientologist...he's a terrible actor as well.

reply

Perhaps it's a politics thing. Once he wins, his asking price would rise.

Well let be honest in the last ten years or more he have not made a worthy performance and have focused most in action flicks but he have make good movies and good performances that for sure 4 of July, Collateral, in Magnolia he let clear he can be a brilliant actor with the right material and director, Tropic Thunder, Jerry Maguire, Interview with the vampire

He still have the power to create good opportunitys for himself if he wanted to work with good directors and good pryects but again the man is too much focuss in action flicks some are amazing like Oblivion and Edge of tomorrow and other are just plain bad like the mummy

reply

What film should he have won an Oscar for?

Which actor won in that category that year?

There is your answer.

reply

Because he's too good. Oscars are only for idiots.

reply

Honestly the last Oscar worthy role he had was Collateral which he was snubbed for (he was way better than Jamie Foxx in that movie). I don't think he's had Oscar worthy roles since then.

reply

He doesn’t seem to chase Oscar-roles, like DiCaprio, Hanks, and others have.

Cruise seems to make a lot of blockbuster action films, which the Academy doesn’t tend to reward. The Academy likes movies based on history or minorities or disabled people etc.

reply

I'd say the genre is the key - dramas get oscars, action or comedy flicks do not - mostly because action or comedy films don't require a whole lot of 'acting' per se. There are, of course, some exceptions.

Aside from that, Hollywood is woke and has been woke for more than a decade. Saving private ryan was snubbed for best picture and the film that won was about the queen of uk, cause female empowerment, etc lol

Of all the rolls he had I think he could’ve won for Lead actor for born on the Fourth of July and supporting for magnolia. I think people just don’t like him and the Oscars are indeed part popularity contest.
