His only 'crime' was that he had consensual sex without a condom.

It was never proven or investigated, nor was he ever charged. He's in prison for exposing US war crimes. That's it.
shareI've read somewhere that apparently it wasn't so much an act of forced intercourse but rather that during the sexual contact, either his condom broke or he stopped a few seconds later - although that can still count as that, but these haven't been fully proven to my knowledge either, and it looks like it will be some time before we know.
