"Littlefeather" (real name Maria Cruz) was a wannabe actress and phony Pocahontas whose tale of John Wayne's rage and aggression is pure bullshit. Wayne was well known for being a gentleman, even with people he disagreed with ideologically, and especially with women. Even ultra-woke George Takei, who worked with the Duke in "The Green Berets", says so in his memoir.
