who would play him in a biopic?
??
shareGeorge Clooney? Tom Hanks?
shareThere's no resemblance between Hanks and Walt Disney, and he did his "Disney" voice as if he'd never watched and listened to any of the hundreds of intros Disney filmed for the stories on his tv series. That didn't stop him from playing Disney.
As far as Clooney is concerned, there's also zero resemblance, in addition to the fact that having Clooney play John Wayne would be like taking a shit on the church floor on Sunday morning.
Jennifer Lawrence is kind of perfect.
shareIt would probably be an unknown who has some resemblance to him and can copy his behaviour. The few actors I can think of that might be able to do it are also very muscular so wouldn't quite work physically speaking.
Chris Hemsworth could maybe pull it off.
John Wayne was played by David James Elliott in "Trumbo," (2015)
about the Hollywood blacklist.
He was in enough films for A.I. to completely reanimate him.
Yes.. it is abhorrent, but the A.I. tool will soon be ubiquitous, everyone will be able to do it, just by asking.
I don't see how they could stop it even with guardrails (laws) passed forbidding it. Even then it would be like President Clinton said "Like trying nail Jello to the wall"
Might as well let Hollywood do it professionally/tastefully.
Star Trek:TNG reanimated several notable historical figures with A.I. in their "holodeck"
He was in enough films for Hollywood to completely reanimate him.
--------'
It wasnt with AI, but CGI technology was used to insert Wayne, years after his death, into a beer commercial using footage from the WW2 movie Cast a Giant Shadow.
Ugggh...It is easy to see where JW would. disapprove of that.
On the other hand... interaction with a holodeck A.I. John Wayne character that best approximates him would be something that most film buffs would do if given a chance.
