Don't

If you could work on that, that'd be great.

reply

You need to work on appreciated Elvis. He is the King after all.

I’m in the same boat:

Always thought Elvis Presley was a bit lame and cheesy and half of it just sounds like lame ass country music yet he's supposed to be the king of Rock n Roll?

I really like Paul McCartney, but The Beatles music just sounds so average and I despise the cult like mentality of some fans and being told how I have to feel about the bands music.

I know-I know I have to be wowed by it and loose my mind blah-blah-blah-blah-blah

I couldn't have said it better.

Elvis had a beautiful voice, a confident swagger and was a generous soul. I totally understand the cult of personality when it comes to Elvis and what an icon he was. I wish he had better song (and movie) material to work with. But when he was good....he was REALLY good. John Lennon once said: "Nothing affected me until I heard Elvis."

Having re-watched his comeback special recently, it reminded me just how much charisma he had on stage, and how great his voice could sound. I totally get it.

Now, I do NOT get The Beatles! I have never liked their music, save for 2 or 3 songs, tops. I much prefer Paul's solo stuff, and the work he did with Wings.

"Before Elvis, there was nothing." --John Lennon
