Weird Raining But No Rain Phenomenon!

So this was weird, anyone else ever experienced something like this:-

Short while ago I opened our french doors to call the cat in. Anyway, I hear it's raining from the pattering sound on the hedges and think, okay he'll be right back...

And then it occurs to me - There isn't any rain actually falling on me!

So I think, wtf is happening here! I grab some shoes and go and stand out in the middle of the garden and still nothing! Put my hands out in front of me, look closely at my palms and see and feel nothing! All the while I'm hearing the patter of rain on the hedges...

I look on the top of the garden bin and still see nothing and then call Mrs FootOfDavros out to make sure I'm not going mad (well that mad anyway...).

For some reason she was less excited than me and said it must just be really fine drizzle. But I'm standing there with a light grey hoodie on and 0% visibility of any water on it...

For me it was like a glitch in the matrix - Like the sound effect had been set but they'd forgot to render the actual blooming rain!

Anyway, anyone else ever experienced something weird like this? Maybe I just stepped out as the very edge of the rain cloud was passing or something but it was all very odd...

SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE BETTER WEED THAN ME....I'M JEALOUS.🫤

Maybe you were hearing wind rustling through the hedges instead of rain.

I have experienced this.

Could be that the rain wasn't falling on you, but only partially on the area nearby.

Not sure about hearing it, but in the car on the highway I've seen this frequently.
Driving on a totally dry street while seeing rain fall ahead of me.
On the highway it takes just a minute or two, from seeing the rain ahead until you drive into a wall of water, where you get from totally dry to pouring rain within a second.
Once I was even driving parallel to the rain, where it was raining on the left side of the highway and dry on the right side, where the fun part was getting in and out of the rain with every other curve.
Nothing weird about it, just logic, every rain event has a border all around it, which will move with the wind and be a very sharp edge when there's no wind and once in a while you're located at that border.

If you live in the woods or close to a park it might just have been little sparrows or chipmunks rustling about on dry leaves and in the shrubs.

Little critters can make a lot of noise just going about their business.
