Happy Valentines Day, everybody!

For those who celebrate it. I've only celebrated it once with a lady, and it was a pretty forgettable date, more than a decade ago.

Funny story, not related to above.

I was once at a chess club and some of the members gathered around the game I was playing. I saw a friend of mine and told him Happy Valentines Day, Michael. Some of the guys looked at each other, really wide eyed. He responded to the rest saying: We are friends, with a smile. This was at a time, where I was in my teens, and knew nothing about romance and even less about Valentines Day. I just thought everybody said it to everybody, like Happy Birthday, or Happy Friday.

Enjoy the day if you are with someone special.

I've celebrated it in the past when I've been with someone, but I'm single and gave my sister and my Dad's wife a Reese's Valentine's Day Heart Box of Reese's candy. My Dad passed away back in 2015 so we keep Carol in mind throughout the years since then

The real reason not everybody celebrates Valentine's Day has nothing to do with romantic attachments (or lack thereof), but the fact that schools don't close and businesses don't shut down for the day. If they did, there would be a lot more enthusiasm for Valentine's Day and celebrating those you love (romantic, fraternal, familial, etc.)
