I have a very sharp Estwing hatchet, I’ll hold the laptop down while you do the deed. There is a woodlot close by and I have a shovel in the truck.

One thinks there is great benefit. First thing though is you have to be interested in the topics discussed here. For me, exactly the stuff I like talking about is discussed more here than any other site I'm on.
The other benefit is if you get into a discussion, rather than looking stuff up - and then copying and pasting - try as hard as you can to use your brain, go by memory. So what is the benefit? Brain exercise. It needs to be exercised just as the bod does.
I think Moviechat is a wonderful place to kill time - of course this is assuming you're a bit older. If you're young - then forget it, go outside and live it up.
