What's the first movie you remember seeing in a theater?

I think? I saw "Karate Kid" in 1984.

I know I saw "Howard the Duck" in 1986.

What about you?

reply

It was either: -
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
Bedknobs and Broomsticks

It would have been around 1971/72.

reply

And both wonderful movies Andy!

reply

And ones that I have watched with my daughter when she was about the same age 👍

reply

Bambi - early 50's

reply

What is your next memory? Next movie?

That's pretty cool.

reply

1956 - The Ten Commandments. It sparked an interest in ancient Egypt which continues to this day.

reply

Jurassic Park

reply

What did you think at the time? Was it scary?

Do you remember who else was with you at the theater?

Jurassic Park is pretty good.

Does it hold it up for you outside of nostalgia?

reply

I saw it on my 10th birthday with my dad and my sister. It was awesome, kind of a magical experience. Parts of it were scary and it was definitely an edge of your seat movie for me back then.

I haven't seen it in almost ten years, but I think it holds up pretty good.

reply

Really? 10 years.

You should go watch it.

It holds up.

reply

I should, I have the original trilogy on dvd somewhere.

reply

Sesame Street "Follow that Bird" - I can still put on the dvd at 43 years old and enjoy it.

reply

Billy Jack in 1972.

reply

It must be one of Walt Disney.

reply

My dad told me my family saw "Three Amigos! (1986)" in the theatre, but I don't remember it at all.

reply

Popeye in 1980
