Your opinion on the band: Pink Floyd

A band that only exists for stoners and hard drug users.

Great band...some of their songs are "hit and miss" for me, but when they hit, they knock it out of the park. David Gilmour is one of the greats...that ending solo he did on "Comfortably Numb" still gives me chills to this day.

Some very solid early albums, but DSOTM is an album for the ages. I liked Animals, after, but that's about it.

I play some version of their songs everyday on the guitar. My favorites are saucerful of secrets, wish you were here and dark side of the moon. Medle is cool too.

However this is the type of band that doesn't deliver instant or rapid gratification, meaning, I like listening to the whole album instead of a single track here and there, so I'd have to be in the mood to embark on that journey

DSOTM and Wish You Were Here are two of my very favorite albums. And I do like Animals and The Wall a lot. I'm overdue to give their earlier stuff a re-listen, I've not been a huge fan but reserve judgment because it's been a long time. But I put them in the same category as Led Zeppelin and The Who--the Greatest Classic Rock bands of Classic Rock.

In my day 👵... They were the band that the kids who smoked weed liked. I was in a room full of them at a planetarium laser show once. I went because I like planetariums. I know a few of their songs but the only one I'd say I like a whole lot is Have a Cigar. I like the guitar in that one.

Well, they were big time back in the day.

For me, I don't know any of their 60s work. I do know their 80s work - didn't care for it.

THEE era for Floyd is "DSOTM" to "The Wall". One is very aware of all this material.

"THe Wall" yeah, some good tracks. Still love the guitar solo in ABITW2.

"Animals" is a kind of weird now. "Wish you were Here" - eeh, not bad. A bit slow in areas.

Dark Side, the majority of it anyway, still sounds real good to me today. "Great Gig in the SKy" - wow! Love the instrumental as well "Any COlour You Like". Oh yeah, and the opening of it - definitely catches your attention (Speak to Me/Breathe).

I think "Dark Side of the Moon" has aged the best. Overall, a very good band, very creative - very relevant in my youth.

70s Pink Floyd was too great. Didn't really care anything outside that, except for "Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun"
