If you see this I would just like to ask a question. After my first week on this message board of being chatty, starting threads that people found interesting and generally spreading positivity and humor I was suspended for a week. I was accused of spamming the board because I stated in a congratulatory thread that I was glad that I no longer had to wait 10 minutes between posts. My response to that is... so what if I was happy that I no longer had to wait 10 minutes between posts? Wouldn't anyone be? And did my happiness at that mean that I had been spamming when I was genuinely contributing to the board with my first 100 posts?

And now people are allowed to come on to General Discussion and start multiple threads on politically charged topics that without fail devolve into outright political fights and nothing is done to them?

Please help me understand.

Rules don't seem to mean much here when there is an attention whore troll with over 75,000 examples of violating the site terms. Please start the enforcement with banning that guy.

Just about everyone defended you in your incident and now you’re trying to get other people policed by the mods for, at worst (from what I read) ignorable borderline conduct? Quietly hit the report or ignore button but I disagree with this semi- call out thread to reignite a GD dispute that had seemingly passed.

The mods must be getting stricter. During the covid lockdown I was posting like 5 threads a day that were absolutely idiotic and I never got suspended.

Hi all- Just to put a bookend on this thread, the crux of the matter here for me is that there are people posting politically charged threads with no consequences. Even if nothing had happened to me previously, this would bother me. Then add to it that I did have to face a consequence when I did nothing wrong, and it's doubly frustrating.

I will not say anymore about the recent politically charged posts, and actually had never planned to bring up the previous event with me. It was brought up in the context of consequences on this board.

Thank you to those of you who said kind things. It is the many kind people on this board who made me come back after that week of suspension. I'll keep an eye out and I'll come back if things start looking better. I genuinely want to keep posting with y'all.

Let the thread go where the thread goes. As long as the OP is not overtly political, it stays on General Discussion. If it strays into politics as the thread progresses, that's fine.
