It was a huge mistake. Universal notified thousands of theaters that it would be sending out a new version of the film with updated CGI, in a move that is 'unheard of' for a film that's already been released.

Pretty much all the CGI in Clive Barker's Lord of Illusion, which is sad because it's pretty decent supernatural mystery. I think the Playstation 2 cutscene quality effects really hurt the movie. It definitely undermined the suspense.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing that one remade.

There is no CGI in Jaws 3-D (1983). Some people think that Outland (1981) also uses CGI. I'm not sure what they are seeing, but it's definitely not CGI. Movies from that era that do use CGI.
