Pears are just bland, deformed apples
Now you know.
shareI admit it is very hard to find a good pear. I have bought them and been disappointed time after time. But when you find that needle in a haystack pear that is ripe and juicy to the point of liquid running down your chin and bursting with pear flavor, you would know they are no apple.
shareGood observation, the riper the better!
Canned pears in juice are very good too.

I am now seeing that this may have been a game and I was playing it wrong.
shareThe OP is incredibly anal and he's serious. But this is a great thread. He may be right but I'll take a pear over an apple any day. They're less sweet but much more flavorful than apples.
shareWell, regardless of what this thread is about, if you can find a good juicy pear it's quite delicious.
sharePears are tasty where I live.
shareSame here.
And then there's this:

It's a fruit brandy made with Williams pears. They grow the pear inside the bottle.
Limes are just wrongly colored lemons.
Oranges are just smaller versions of grapefruit.
