They can't replace peanut. Peanut had a special bond with his caretaker. He would come to him and jump on his hand from across the room, on command. Can your critters do that?
I think the guy didn’t have the proper license yet — he was still in the process of getting whatever’s required for keeping wild animals. The videos in the links explain it a bit more.
Are you referring to the tweet? Because the video is the same as in my link except the one in my link is a longer clip from TMZ. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hg6WkF6o9J8
If you mean this then I totally agree: "Blue states seem to care more about euthanizing squirrels than arresting burglars and drug dealers"
I’m not sure why you’re replying to me — I was just quoting the tweet Bloodshot posted to ask if that’s what he was referring to, or if he meant the video in the tweet instead.
This sounds like fake news put out by the Trump campaign right before the election. I have a hard time believing this, and especially the timing is suspicious.
It's absolutely real. Numerous credible news sources have reported on it. Peanut was a beloved squirrel and social media celebrity, and he had a genuine bond with his owner, showcased in countless videos where he performed tricks and brought joy to so many over the years. The government forcibly seized him and euthanized him, which kicked off a social media firestorm because people loved Peanut.
This is a sad reality that happened, not some conspiracy theory.
Well I agree with you that the government has no business euthanizing any animal, especially a pet. If a pet squirrel violated some zoning law, then it could have been taken and released into the wild or given to a zoo or park.
Wild squirrels live in my backyard and I'm in suburban Los Angeles. I just don't understand why the state's gendarmes would break down anybody's door to seize a squirrel.
That's the same question the caretaker is asking: why did they go in so hard? They stormed into his home with overwhelming force — dozens of police officers, searching every corner and telling him he couldn't leave while they conducted their search. As he mentioned in the video, he felt like he was treated worse than a drug dealer. If he was indeed violating some law or lacking the proper license, why not just give him a fine? And if they were going to seize the animal, why euthanize it? It all seems unnecessarily cruel.
Well it's certainly possible strings were pulled to make it happen. NY officials refuse to comment meaning it was done on purpose. They're probably also staying silent to avoid litigation.
This was a case of a jealous liberal internet bitch in Texas who should have been arrested for harassment, and a disgusting power grab by the Powers That Be in New York, little more.
It's like, they can't be bothered with illegal aliens or criminals causing trouble, and yet they send a squad of 12 officers to a harmless couple's house over a squirrel?! Seriously?!
You can bet every judge and officer that was involved with that senseless raid is gonna get harassed and their homes trashed in the next few days, mark my words.
You know what they say; serial killers always experiment on killing animals first before they murder people. Who's to say the local state governments in blue states like NY won't move onto killing innocent people they don't like for flimsy reasons? And don't think the Constitution will stop them either, they'll find some lousy excuse to get around it, only get punished for it after the innocent human victim is dead and just get a slap on the wrist, if the angry mob doesn't come after them first.
"You can bet every judge and officer that was involved with that senseless raid is gonna get harassed and their homes trashed in the next few days, mark my words."
As the Jews like to say: From your lips to Gods ears.
Backlash? Backlash?
These petty tyrannical bureaucrats deserve to have acorns shoved up their butts before being introduced to a horde of hungry squirrels.
