In 2044: Do you think people will actually leave their house to go see a movie?
And then discuss.
shareAnd then discuss.
shareAs long as by then houses have their own nacho cheese dispensers and skill cranes then there will really be no need to ever go to a movie theater again.
shareI think by 2044, it'll be a fairly niche activity. Most people won't go. Most multiplexes will be long gone. But there will be smaller cinemas for smaller crowds reviving the classics -- Barbie 5, Wonka: Part 6, Terrifier XI -- for people who want to see them on the big screen
shareThe asteroid will hit Earth by then.
shareI don’t think that people will actually leave their house at all.
shareI’d rather not.
shareHow sad - people need to get out and mingle with others. Occasionally I have days when I don't leave my house, but those are rare and even if I don't have anything to do, I'll find a reason to get out.
I love going to a movie theater with a huge screen, overpriced popcorn and beverages. I recently took my grandson to go see The Wild Robot at a theater that serves food at your seat and we had a blast - simply not the same experience at home.
I don't know.
Highly unlikely I will.
However, I can't imagine young people not going out to the movies. YOu're young, dating, hanging with your crew, doing your thing.
Dinner/movie or Movie/dinner - whichever order you like. Big part of being young.
I couldn't imagine my youth without "Hey let's go to the movies!".
I could see the niche theaters still being around. Indy theaters and revival houses are still fun to attend and the audiences are usual fellow film lovers.
shareI dont do that now!
I'll be 78 in 2044 and either dead or unable to go to the movies anymore and live as a hermit with my 450 Blu Ray/DVD's
