Going to school to be a French major
Think I'll make good money as a translator/interpreter?
shareThe fuckers didn't accept me.
I'm going to get C2 level CEFR testing when I feel like I'm ready for that test just to spite them (see, I learned French anyways, and I'm good at it)
Some things to consider anyways:
- i would have been 38 by the time I graduated
- no guarantee of a job (Google search later revealed that no, this isn't a good money maker. most start off at only 28k a year and move up to 40s/50s)
- the difference between this and CDL driver worked out to 1.7 million by retirement age
- I already know French, 3 French classes aren't really going to improve it. This took easily thousands of hours of language learning material, 1 hour a day for 180 days the next three years isn't going to add much
- French cooking was the big draw to the program
- I'll be just as qualified with CEFR testing (either you speak French or you don't )
- I would have had to double major anyways (get a business degree which I don't care for doing) just to have a job afterwards
Upset doesn't describe how I feel right now. Hot females was another reason I wanted to go to school! Again not a real reason (yes it is!)
I'm still going to take lots of vacations to Southern France -- titty island is my destination, gentlemen. I bid you adieu
