Tonight we watched I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998).

Dr Who (2005-)
Five Nights At Freddy’s (2023)
Fright Night (2011)
Gremlins I and II (1984/90)
The Haunting (1999)
Hocus Pocus I and II (1993/2022)
I Know What You Did Last Summer I and II (1997/98)
It I and II (2017/19)

Movie: "What's the capital of Brazil"?

Me: "Brasilia."

Movie: "Rio de Janeiro".

Me: "Wrong."

Movie: "You are correct! It's Rio!"

Me: "Okay, that's the killer."

reply

^This!^

My sister and I thought the same thing when watching it in theater back then and it only went downhill from there. The twist was also blatantly obvious. When the movie ended one girl behind me told her friend: "That was scary!". I wanted to punch her in the face to show what scary really felt like.

reply

I don't understand why they didn't ask a question that was so easy even a kid would have got it.

reply

I always disliked that series.

reply

It’s one of the weaker ones for sure.

reply

Maybe watch the third one, it's ridiculous.

reply

I think we’ll quit while we’re ahead.

reply

DID YOU GUYS CRY WHEN SWEET BABY BOY JACK BLACK WAS SAVAGELY MURDERED?

reply

We did not ☹️

reply

Was it really last summer though? Did this one take place immediately after the first movie chronologically so that it was still only around 1 year that had passed? I never watched any of the sequels except - I Know What You Did Last Summer, Then I Forgot, Remembered Again, and Then Ate a Cupcake with Mint Frosting

reply

It takes place one year later, so it must refer to the previous summer.

reply

The Still parts is what throws me off.

reply

The act of knowing what happened the previous summer still continues...or something like that...🫤

reply

All joking aside, the two films were released a year apart.

reply

1 year passed in the first movie, hence the title. This one should’ve been called I still know what you did 2 summers ago.

reply

Agreed.

reply

How does it compare to the first one?

reply

Badly, I would give the first one a solid 7/10; this was a meh 5/10.

reply

Sorry to hear that :/ I'm afraid even among horror movies, some of the franchises suffer from "sequel syndrome" in a really bad way.

reply

The Haunting of Hill House (2018). The most amazing non-horror Horror series. I don't know if a 10 year old should watch it, meaning most might go over her head. It's a sad story with some horror elements, not scary to me.

reply

We have a bit of Stranger Things and two doctors worth of Dr Who to get through first, lol.

reply

Do you have Lost (2004) on your list ? I would say don't bother instead watch Manifest (2018), it's waaaaay better. The main characters include a Father and Daughter. It has a far deeper religious connection. It was Top 10 on Netflix for a very long time.

reply

I haven’t even seen Lost.

reply

Still haven't watched CHILDS PLAY & CUJO?? You must

reply

Still working their way to the top - we’ll definitely get there soon.

reply

I’ve never seen it myself but there is a TV movie remake of “I Saw What You Did” starring Shawnee Smith and Tammy Lauren from 1988 your daughter might like.
