Most of you seem to know a lot more about movies than I do. So what is your opinion of this movie?

The first time I saw it my reaction was to hate it and confusedly ask "what the heck did I just watch"? Then it kept pulling me back in and I watched it over and over again in my young adulthood, and grew to love it. Now I've watched it so much I would get bored watching it ever again except once a year, I have it on in the background on Halloween night while I hand out candy to trick or treaters. And of course I have to sing a few of the songs.

So is it a good movie, or crap, or both?

Never seen it and never will. Nothing about it seems interesting to me.

I would say closer to crap, since there isn't much of a story, but the music is great and some of the performers (especially Tim Curry) are fantastic. So 5.5 - 6 for me.
Can't say that I was ever into this movie, but I had some friends that would dress up and do the talking to the screen and dancing with the dancers.
