INSOMNIA IS A BITCH...MOST NIGHTS I STRUGGLE TO SLEEP AT ALL SOME NIGHTS IF I AM LUCKY I GET 3 OR 4 HOURS...BUT IT'S ALWAYS A STRUGGLE...I RARELY F EVEN HAVE TIME FOR TRYING TO NAP DURING THE DAY...SO I END UP A WALKING ZOMBIE MOST OF THE TIME...SEEMS LIKE ABOUT ONCE EVERY COUPLE WEEKS UNDER THE PERFECT CIRCUMSTANCES I CRASH FOR 10 TO 12 HOURS AND THEN IT'S BACK TO THE INSOMNIAC'S BALL.



GOT ANY STORIES OR TIPS ON THE SUBJECT?πŸ˜’

I can relate. There were many nights not long ago when all I would get was three or four hours, too. The things that have helped me get better sleep are:

1. Using blackout curtains
2. Trying to stay off of my phone for at least 30 minutes before I get in bed.
3. Forcing myself not to think about anything as I'm laying there trying to fall asleep. That's the hardest! As soon as the thought comes in my head I shut it out.

I think taking magnesium helps some people too.

NUMBER 3 IS DEFINITELY THE HARDEST AND PROBABLY MY BIGGEST PROBLEM.

When I can't sleep, I used to binge-watch boring YouTube channels about quantum physics. Now I’m trapped in a superposition -- just me and SchrΓΆdinger's cat debating life choices!

Eat some almonds before sleeping.
Also, sleep in the fetal position. Healthiest on your left side.

Set a time for your sleep, and stick to it.
Shut off all devices and phones 45 minutes before sleeping.

Devices off at least two hours before bed time.
Read a book half an hour before you to sleep.
Have a fixed bed time.

Long ago I used to use this trick drink before bed - mix a banana, milk and honey into a smoothie. The combination acts like a natural sedative.

You can try taking some magnesium before you go to bed - that's supposed to help.

Don't fuck around with melatonin.

And if all else fails, read some of samoanjoes' posts.

I'm in the same boat, so not many tips. Drink less soda, eat more iron-rich foods and spend a little more time in direct sunlight, those are the only things that have worked for me. Too bad I'm a vegetarian who loves soda, so I can't even follow my own tips half the time.

I'm too tired to do anything while awake, so I'd be a pretty shit vigilante, but hey good luck. Also yeah, you may be indeed be fucked, I genuinely dunno what else could help. At least you're sticking it to coca-cola by not drinking as much cherry coke, that's superhero adjacent enough.

My wife is amazed that I can sleep anywhere, anytime, even standing up, lol.

Herbal tea is good - Camomile, Peppermint, Green etc.

Camomile tea is great for sleep. I use this too. But Kowalski is a pothead so not sure that tea would help much if weed doesn't πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ.

I SMOKE A LOT OF WEEDS...I NEVER GET THE MUNCHIES AND I DON'T GET TIRED....IT'S PROBABLY BECAUSE I AM SUCH A MUSCULAR SUPERMAN WITH COOL IDEAS AND FUNNY JOKES.πŸ˜‰

I can't sleep in silence. I listen to story tellers on YouTube every night. I hear about 3 or 4 stories and I'm gone. I'd be up all night without them.

Some that I frequent are, Being Scared, Interscare Sleep, Let's Read, Mr Ballen and Mr Revenant amongst others. They're usually stories taken from Reddit, but as the channels get bigger, people send their own stories directly to the storyteller.

It's one reason why I pay for YouTube Premium, do that there's no ads whilst I'm trying to get to sleep.
