Movie franchises that need to stop

What movie franchises do you think need to stop making new movies? My list would include:

Alien
The Conjuring
Despicable Me/Minions
Fast and Furious
Godzilla and Kong
Halloween
Indiana Jones
John Wick
Jurassic Park/World
Paranormal Activity
Pirates of the Caribbean
Predator
Saw
Star Trek
Star Wars
Superman
Terminator
Transformers

All of them!

All of them.

Can you imagine a 10 year period where there would be no sequels or spin-offs?

reply

Marvel Studios needs to go bankrupt.

reply

Not Asian Babes though, right?

reply

No, Asian Babes can never end. It must go on for all time.

Thank you 👍

Next one is Asian Babes - The Blackening.

X-men
Deadpool
Avengers
Batman
Joker
Harry potter
Hunger games
Avatar

reply

I agree with Hunger Games and Avatar.

reply

Fair enough.
X-Men may have started the superhero trend, but most of the movies are trash.
Deadpool is a joke that overstayed his welcome
Avengers finished their story years ago
Batman sucks. There's 3 decent movies with him in it.
Joker is just like Batman
Harry Potter had it's time. Now it's time to let it ho.

reply

I love the Deadpool movies but 3 is enough. Besides Batman the rest I'd be fine without.

I watch a few franchise films but for the most part I avoid them. They are more like factory products than films.

reply

Agree. I even stopped watching James Bond!

I don't watch any of the sequels anymore, but the *need* to stop in my opinion is based on finances. If the movies make money, then they don't need to stop. I suspect the whole idea is self correcting.

Every 5 years there's a new group of kids who want to find out what all the excitement in the past was about, and why the franchise-starting films have such devoted followings. They go to see the latest entries in these franchises, but then the long-time fans pour contempt on these new movies. The kids are left disappointed and disillusioned, and then move on to something else.

Repeat again in 5 years.
