This version, I believe from her first big tour, really takes me back. I remember seeing it (the video) back then, around 1984, not knowing who Madonna was, and I was quite taken with it. Everything from her outfit, her looks, her singing, her dancing, her stage presence. But what I never saw before was young women and girls reacting to a female performer in the same way as a boy band...the screaming.

I always liked girl rockers like Pat Benetar, Lita ford and especially Joan Jett. Rock in general is music for the angry and guys seem to rule the genre but a handful of women managed to fight their way into the crew.

As far as modern music I honestly have no clue, this shit my kids listen to sounds dumb…maybe I’m becoming the ‘get off my lawn’ guy LOL😄
