Do people ever say you look like a famous person?

Various people unrelated to each other and at different times have told me I look like Bill Gates. One guy told me a few weeks ago I look like Tony Hawk.

reply

When I was younger it used to happen a lot.

reply

Peter Scully?

reply

I don’t know who that is 🤷‍♂️

reply

Sure you don't. 😉

reply

No, I really don’t. Who is he?

reply

You protest too much.

reply

Oh, ok then 🤷‍♂️

reply

Someone recently told me I look like Billy Ray Cyrus.

reply

People have said I look like Robin Williams.

reply

I was told once that I looked like the actor who played Christina Applegate’s boyfriend in Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter is Dead.

reply

Josh Charles?

reply

Yeah. I’m about six years older than him.

reply

Only twice that I remember. In the mid 1990s at the beach some girl said I looked like Chris O'Donnell (who had recently played Robin in Batman Forever at the time), and in the late 2000s my older brother's wife said I looked like Eminem in my driver's license picture, which was taken in the early 2000s.

Funny, over the years I've been told I "look just like:" Zachary Quinto, Ben Stiller, Daniel Day-Lewis, Tom Cruise, Chris North (Mr. Big from Sex and the City, never watched it) and when I had long hair, Bob Weir from the Grateful Dead. I never really saw much validity to their claims, but perhaps we see ourselves "differently" than other people, and it's a fun little conversation starter.

Anyway, years later when I was bored at work one day, I assembled pictures of all these guys, and looking at them all on one page, it struck me that they all do have a certain type of face, a shared look, which I fit in with, even if I don't "look just like" any of them.

reply

Bruce Willis is the one I’ve gotten most often.

reply

When I was young, another kid asked me if I was Macaulay Culkin. I also was told I looked like him pretty often.

Now some people say I look a bit like Tom Green.
