lamest villains ever?

What villains come to mind for you as being some of the lamest, most ineffective, most unmemorable baddies to ever grace the screen?

For me, the one that immediately comes to mind is Dracula (Drake) from Blade: Trinity. Not only is he nothing like the traditional screen depiction of Dracula (which would've been fine if done well) but neither the script nor the actor make this character compelling or memorable in any way. He just acts like a perpetually pissed off skinhead tough guy, with none of the charm or seductiveness of the real Dracula present.

Even with the way his abilities are depicted, there's virtually nothing that separates him from any of the vampires Blade's fought in his previous films until the final act. And even then, all he does is transform into a generic red devil, without any wings or anything. They should've at least gave him some bigger, badder powers (something like the Castlevania games would've been nice).

What comes to mind for you as being some of the lamest villains you've ever seen?

Bennett (Vernon Wells) from Commando (1985). A guy who looks like Freddy Mercury with a beer belly doesn't quite seem like a match for Arnold Schwarzenegger in his [near] prime.

reply

I used to watch Commando a lot in my early teens. The villain is so memorably camp it's hilarious. Gayer than Christmas.

reply

That’s a good call. I liked Bennet but only because he was so silly and clearly Arnold was gonna kick his ass in the end. ‘Let off some steam Bennet!’

reply

Madame Web has a lame villain. I can't even remember his name or why he was mad/doing bad stuff.

Rami Malek as Lyutsifer Safin in No Time to Die (2021)

reply

Omg, yes! Had a good start. He was good up until his revenge. After that, he's just a generic ass villain

reply

He just looked like the kid that got his head pushed down the toilet and flushed at school. Maybe that’s what made him a supervillain 🤔

Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker.

John Travolta in the abomination known as Battlefield Earth.

Art Carney as The Archer in '60s TV series Batman. Great actor but totally miscast and overall completely lame villain.

reply

Agree on Art Carney. Terrible villain. The dude wasn't menacing.

reply

Hayden is a mixed bag, considering the dynamics his character went through from good to bad, though most of us Star Wars fans agree that he earned the name, "Whineakin Skywalker." Crylo Ren is even worse.

And yeah, everything about that "Battlefield Earth" film sucked, including John Revolta's character.

Bill From "Kill Bill". Spoilers ahead: we finally see him in battle after two whole films. He talks for about 25 minutes before the final battle and it last about 30 seconds. It was a punch to the heart that killed him.

reply

I wouldn't go so far as to call him a "lame" villain, as David Carradine was excellent in the role but I agree, the Bride and him really should've had a longer fight.

There's a deleted scene of him fighting and killing Michael Jai White that really should've been left in the film (it's on Youtube for those who haven't seen it). It would've made him seem much more like a threat than just a scrawny 60-something year old guy. As is, we're told but never shown just how much of a badass Bill supposedly is.

reply

You have just uncovered a memory that I completely forgot about. I remember that scene with Michael Jai White. I agree that it should have been in the movie. The thing about Bill is that other than the final shot to The Bride's head, he didn't really do much. He had everyone do the dirty work for him.

Timothy Olyphant in Live Free or Die Hard. When I think of what made a good Die Hard villain it's a sense of dread in their character and plot for which he was horribly miscast.

reply

Him & whoever the villain was in Die Hard 5 were lame af.

reply

I didn't even remember the villain from Die Hard 5.🤣

reply

Same! 😅

I agree that Timothy Olyphant was miscast in Four but Maggie Q & Justin Long were actually pretty solid in that movie imo.

Heck, even McClane was still badass.

But Part 5 is hands down on the most generic & forgettable movies I've ever watched. Not just in the Die Hard franchise but ever.

The only character I remember from that film is John himself. Can't even remember what his kid's name was. 😆

reply

I think it was some crazy woman who killed herself in the final "boss fight" by trying to ram McClain with a helicopter whilst he was inside a building !

reply

Christopher Walken as Max Zorin in the 007 spy pictures A View To A kill was a lame villain and I hate to say it because I LOVE Walken.
Honestly, May Day, Zorin’s top enforcer played by Grace Jones would have been an epic badass opponent. It was sort of a dopey script.

reply

Pretty much anything from Disney Star Wars. Take your pick.

reply

Which of course the villains are all white males.🙄

reply

Crylo Ren earned that nickname. I don't even bother remembering the name of his red-haired butt boy. Phasma was incredibly lame and misused too.

The only people I feel sorry for more than Adam Driver are the Gen Z teenage girls that were stupid enough to fall for him and the "Reylo" shipping trend.
