Name one of your favourite movies that's in a genre you're not a fan of.
Western - High Noon
Musical - The Lion King

Not too crazy about Science Fiction....
Loved "Alien"
Same here. I also love The Matrix, though.
shareHave you seen "Aliens"?
shareYeah. Came out in 86 I believe.
It was all right, but you knew what was coming at that point.
Plus it was Rambo-ized. Meaning the year prior "Rambo: First Blood part 2" was all the rage. This time it was Ripley going crazy with her futuristic armor.
When "ALien" came out, in 79 I believe, it was totally out of the box.
Terrific flick.
I'm pretty much a fan of all genres, but going by genres I watch the least, I would say Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
Yeah, sitting here thinking about it - I think I can agree.
One generally finds musicals, on occasion, embarrassingly bad.
WW and TCF - Im speaking specifically of the Gene Wilder version...
It was pretty good. Memorable songs. Memorable story. The acting was good.
Yeah, I second VinceD
Honestly, I’ve never really considered Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory a musical, but you’re right. So, if we follow that path then isn’t The Wicker Man (1973) a musical too??
If it is, then THAT is my favorite musical. 😀
I'm not much of a fan of the western genre, but True Grit (1969; I hated the 2010 version), Unforgiven, Young Guns, Young Guns II, and Quigley Down Under are among my all-time favorite movies. I can't pick just one as my favorite, and I can't think of any other westerns that I care about at all.
I'm not a fan of any of the main genres that Rocky (1976) falls into (sports, drama, romance), but it's one of my favorite movies.
Musical - The Wizard of Oz (1939) (and that's the only one I like at all)
The thing with Westerns for me is that I like a lot of them... but only once. I don't care much for rewatching them with the exception of "High Noon". Westerns are too limited to truly be appealing to me.
