What did you chemicals watch this week? (04/21-04/27)

The handmaid’s tale Season 1:
Episode 5: A very good follow up after ep. 4 which was great. We got to see titties and blood! (Not in the same scene) 7.5/10
Episode 6: A little bit too standard drama to really excite me but it’s something. I’m looking forward for the next episode. 6.5/10
Episode 7: Strong episode. Very strong. It has a little bit of everything. 8/10

The toxic avenger 3: the last Temptation of Toxie (Friday night special): This movie is hated by most people, even fans. I might’ve lost focus here in there but it was still a good film for me and fitted for the MovieClub. The wild vibe of the movie just makes me feel happy inside. It’s very dumb, it’s poorly made and I like it. I truly wonder what the directors tells the background actors before he says “action” because the people’s facial expressions and even their gestures are often weird and over the top in a fun way. My rating: 6.5/10

Psycho cop returns (Friday late night special): I didn’t care about any of the characters so that didn’t help. The fact that none of us had watch the first one probably didn’t either. The cinematography was at times good at times mediocre. The story was non-existent. The kills were okay but the killer was fun. A few good lines here and there. It didn’t take itself too seriously and it helped. My rating: 5.5/10

The kid detective (Saturday night special): I’ve been a fan of Brody ever since The O.C. and it makes me happy to see him as a lead for once. He did a great job plus the movie was good! I personally found that the “shocking final twist” didn’t affect me as it did others but I really enjoyed the dark, deadpan style of humour. The story, when you put it all together, is just sort of normal and okay. I’d compare it to a weekly episode of Columbo or something like that. My rating: 7/10

Movies:

-The Haunting (1999)
The movie looks beautiful, but there is no suspense whatsoever and the CGI is really over the top.

-Broken Arrow (1996)
A ridiculous action movie like Face/Off, but not as entertaining. Travolta was good as a villain that's similar to his role in the other Woo movie, but Slater was pretty boring.

TV shows

-Psych - marathon
And that was the last episode! Still feel the early seasons are definitely better than the first.

-Dallas - marathon

-Home Improvement - marathon
I seemed to have left this out last time. Weird.

Hey! I thought of you this week while I watched two episodes of the Road to Avonlea. Although it wasn’t as good as I remembered it to be, it was a nice nostalgic moment.

I don’t remember seeing the haunting.

Broken arrow been a long time but I’d say 6.5/10

Hey, you should think of me all the time!

I agree, not as good as I remembered, but still nostalgic.

The Breakfast Club (1985) 9/10 Still holds up.

Wonka (2023) 6.5/10 A little too much singing for my taste, but I did like this a lot more than I thought I would.

Resident Alien (2022) 8/10 I've only watched 3 episodes of this on Netflix but I'm really enjoying it. It's sci-fi and pretty funny. The main guy is very likable.

Dead Boy Detectives 7/10 This is another Netflix series from England. It starts out pretty good so I'm gonna keep going with this one.

Dark (Netflix) S3 - One of the most well written and complex sci-fi series that I’ve ever seen 8/10.

Oppenheimer - A good film that doesn’t drag like I expected it to 7.5/10.
