Thinking about this recasting for a minute, I’ll give it a shot

I want Alison Janney as Dorothy, Holland Taylor as Sophia

Flexible on others- if we keep Blanche as a southern belle, maybe we can spruce up Holly Hunter, sorta like her character in The Firm. Maybe Reese Witherspoon if we wait a few years, though as an ensemble and not the lead, she’d probably pass.

Rose, don’t know. Maybe Julia Louis -Dreyfus; Kristen Bell would be great but not old enough yet, and at times she appears to be allergic to good roles; maybe even give Lisa Kudrow a shot, but the flakey, corny whimsy may be too similar to Phoebe; maybe Michelle Pfeiffer is perfect after all …

As another poster responded, what the hell are the ‘golden’ years now?
