Do you watch films with an imdb rating lower than 4 ?

I think I have once, (can't even remember what I watched) however I might be tempted to again. There might be some good stuff, despite the ratings.

Anyone ?

reply

i don't. i am not a fan of the bad movie genre.

reply

Almost certainly not. Not into the 'so bad its good' meme watching some people do. Something that low suggests total amateurism.

reply

Not very often. I have 3 on my IMDB list that I actually liked Jaws 3, Barb Wire, And Children in the Corn 2020.

reply

Why? ( why do you want to know )

Why not?

I've seen 18 movies with a rating below 4.0 on IMDb;

- Leprechaun 6: Back 2 That Hood (2003) /// 3.9
- Omen IV: The Awakening (1991) /// 3.9
- Halloween: Resurrection (2002) /// 3.9
- Piranha Part Two: The Spawning (1982) /// 3.8
- Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977) /// 3.8
- Piranha 3DD (2012) /// 3.8
- Batman & Robin (1997) /// 3.8
- Crocodile (2000) /// 3.7
- Leprechaun in the Hood (2000) /// 3.7
- Howling II: Stirba - Werewolf Bitch (1985) /// 3.7
- Jaws 3 (1983) /// 3.7
- Dracula 3D (2012) /// 3.6
- Leprechaun 4: In Space (1996) /// 3.5
- Scary Movie 5 (2013) /// 3.5
- Catwoman (2004) /// 3.4
- The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation (1994) /// 3.3
- Troll 2 (1990) /// 2.9
- Meet the Spartans (2008) /// 2.8

I try not put too much value on IMDb ratings however it's probably undeniable that if you were to take ten movies with an 8.5 and compare them to ten movies with a 3.5, the 8.5's would be way better on average. I also do tend to avoid movies with very poor ratings/reviews even though I often argue ratings on websites aren't important.

As you can see most of the time I check out a lower rated movie it's due to me working through a franchise/checking out a sequel, most often a horror one.

I've seen 135 films with an imdb rating lower than a 4.

reply

Nope. That's what the ratings are for--life is too short, and I think you degrade yourself if you watch a movie because it's "so bad it's good."

I appreciate all the responses.
