my broke ass cousin gave one of those con- artists 20$ for Christmas. This guys still lives with his parents and is technically homeless himself. There is only one homeless dude on this rich secluded safe heaven 35 minutes away from the hustle and bustle of the big shitty. He must be so fucking rich this month begging. If my cousin who really can't afford to give this 25 cents gave a 20 out of pity, I can't imagine how much he gets from fat rich old ladies who actually have means

When I have been in need, I've always been lucky and blessed enough to have help from family and friends. So I usually give a couple of dollars if I have it.

I've never seen a REAL one... one that wasn't a fake. I see many, many fakes

I donate to charity that aims to clothe, feed, teach work skills, and provide shelter. Ive even volunteered at the Salvation army where they provide a daily breakfast to those who enter. The only direct donations are food and water and that's only what I have with me.

We don't give out cash. There are a lot of frauds in Minneapolis who abuse good-hearted people. When confronted in the skyway, we direct them to St. Olaf where they will be directed to helpful services.

Worst situation: a wo.an held up a sign saying she needed money to bury her dead baby. My wife grabbed information for free services for people in the situation and gave the woman the information. Two weeks later she was still holding the sign. My wife called her out, and let others know that the woman was lying. The woman said, You don't know if I have a dead baby. My wife responded, "hospitals don't keep bodies for this long. What, did you put the kid in your freezer?"

The woman left.

A few days later, my wife saw the woman with a different sign. At the end of the day, she saw the woman drive past her in the parking lot. She had a brand new Lexus.

People like that are why others are unwilling to give money to panhandlers.

Whilst on holiday in Vegas I saw a guy with a sign that said, “I’m not gonna lie - I just want cash for beer”. It made me laugh so I gave him a couple of bucks.
