Candid Camera

I've been watching old clips all day, anyone have a favorite clip from this classic series ?

The first thing that comes to mind is the job seeker who steps into an office and the receptionist is upside down behind her desk (Don't remember if the desk is upside down as well. IIRC she is strapped in her chair). However a Google/YouTube search doesn't turn up anything.

There have been a few incarnations of Candid Camera. I remember watching the 1960s version with Alan Funt, who was the original creator, but I can't really recall specific stunts/practical jokes (it's possible the one I mention above is from a different gag show). From what I have read, behind the scenes Funt was a real jerk, even an a-hole.

As kids, we used to watch this series a lot. One of my favorites stunts was at a bowling alley. The bowlers were shocked at the behavior of the pins.

I was a bowler for many years, and it still cracks me up.

That's classic.

Yep, and I'm still chuckling here. 🤭

The idea of the show lives on in a show/channel called Just For Laughs:

I used to watch the 70s version cohosted by Phyllis George with my family when I was a kid but it has been so long I don’t remember many of the pranks.

She was a real good-looker. Had that Texas all-American look, and was one of the first prominent female sportscasters. I was saddened by her relatively early (age 70) death from cancer.
