I wanted to buy sugar (not a black friday deal but because I need some for Christmas baking) and no sugar to be found. Found out Canada is having a sugar shortage because of a strike. I'm so annoyed. It's like Covid and toilet paper all over again.

This is the time of year I'm leery of doing any kind of regular shopping. You have no choice but to deal with the multitude of Christmas shoppers out there. I feel your pain, though. It's annoying when the store is out of the one thing you really need. I've been there, and it's annoying.

It's not just one store. It's all of them. It's like the news reported a strike, so everyone went and hoarded the sugar.

I had planned on buying a new tv since electronics are always the first best deal. As it turned out, due to unforeseen circumstances, I felt compelled to make that decision 3 weeks earlier and I'm glad it happened that way. Love my new HD, Smart TV! Got it at a bargain price without Black Friday even being involved. 😄

You got a TV at a good price without any of this "Black Friday" nonsense. That's further proof that this bogus event is nothing but a bunch of hype. If more people would realize that there are much better sales being conducted all throughout the year, there would be no reason to ruin the Thanksgiving weekend with this rubbish.

Also, we had an Arctic blast move in during Thanksgiving which made it more reasonable to just stay hunkered down at home for the weekend.

it's all online now, kinda sad I miss the huge all night event. Me and my buddy and our dads camped out at Best Buy in 2006 and it was one of the highlights of my childhood
