Do I need to rewash my clothes?

My flatmate decided to spray the lawn with weedkiller while I had my laundry drying on a clothes drying rack. He moved them onto the tiled area and claims that he didn't spray near them. I said "I'd prefer if you'd just take them in. Liquid becomes vapor you know."

Should I rewash? Only a few feet away.

reply

I would burn them, just to be safe.

reply

Smell them.

reply

Yep - I would.

flatmate

reply

I say flatmate because someone explained to me that roommate sounds like you share a room and housemate sounds like you share a house. Yes a flat is British terminology but it seems to be a more precise word.

She has no tits?

reply

😂

I understand, I use to call my roommates wankers, cause that was most accurate.

Line-drying clothes isn't common in Los Angeles. It's even banned in certain neighborhoods and carries a hefty fine for being "unsightly," but good on you for using a clothesline and helping save the environment.

You should probably rewash your clothes; pesticides cause all kinds of cancer.

reply

so a state that is sunny and warm all the time has banned clothes drying on a line?! Wow, that'd cause a riot in Britain 🫤

reply

The state hasn't banned it, it's not illegal per se, but many housing and neighborhood associations ban it and will fine you if you do it. Their reasoning is that it's unsightly and lowers property values.

I find it ridiculous too.

“Homeowner associations recognize that if people throw their clothes over their fences and patio walls that their homes won’t be as aesthetically attractive,” said Richard S. Monson, president of the California Assn. of Homeowners Assns. “We’re criticized for this, but what it’s doing is protecting home values.”

reply

I'd end up killing my neighbours if I lived somewhere like that 😅

reply

😂😂

reply

Rewash them.. It couldn't hurt and use a dryer

reply

If roundup was used, it’s an inhalation hazard as well as it being absorbed through the skin. It’s bad stuff commonly used everywhere in the US, but I think it’s banned throughout most of Europe.

reply

I would, better safe than sorry...

reply

I would probably hose them down outside before throwing them in the washing machine.

reply

Too late I just rewashed them
