Daylight Savings time.

Excellent!
shareCan we get rid of this fucking thing already(DST)? Arizona don't need it, why do we?
Signed, million man.
My friend sent me this: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/F-BIj4cWcAADvIp?format=jpg&name=large
Make your decision wisely.
I thought Arizona & Hawaii didn't particpate in Daylight Savings already??
shareDaylight Stupidity Time. It serves no purpose and should have been abolished decades ago.
It should have ended a week ago. Thank you, U.S. Congress, for extending this nonsense into November and destroying Halloween.

shareIf they must keep this pointless garbage, then go back to the six months on/six months off schedule where DST started on the last Sunday of April and ended on the last Sunday of October. That would be a true compromise, and it doesn't ruin Halloween.
Currently there is too much DST and not enough Standard Time.
I would prefer to leave everything set on Standard Time because it is the true measure of time. Anyone who absolutely must have the "extra daylight" is free to get up earlier during the spring and summer months. The "extra daylight" is a natural phenomenon relative to the degree of tilt of the Earth on its axis; changing the clocks doesn't create more sunlight nor does it cause the Sun to "set later." These are both illusions. The government has done a great brainwashing job with this DST rubbish.
Agree! Also, DST can have health and safety impacts. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like the odds are in ST's favor if one is chosen over the other.
shareI agree. There is too much daylight in general. Most people sleep during the night so it's not like they're been assaulted by so much darkness.
share"Anyone who absolutely must have the "extra daylight" is free to get up earlier during the spring and summer months."
And do what exactly? It's not like shops and restsurants are open. I don't know about you, but most of us need to get ready for work.
I already noticed the day after the clocks were set back that there were fewer people in the streets at the end of the afternoon/early in the evening than the day before. It's obvious that if people had a choice they'd prefer more daylight AFTER work than BEFORE work. I do agree there should be one standard time only.
Employers could be encouraged to offer earlier starting/quitting times during these months. Just change "nine-to-five" to "eight-to-four" and leave the clocks alone.
shareIf working hours were THAT flexible, it would already be a thing. Also, I don't want the "extra" hour of light to enjoy in my free time in the summer, but in the autumn/winter. Make DST permanent.
shareLOL at that comic.
Now that everything's digital and clocks adjust automatically, I barely notice DST anymore.
I wake up at 5am too so I still get the same amount of daylight, just earlier in the day.
What's really strange is being in a part of the world where the sun comes up/goes down at a very different time of day. In Spain the day starts so late because it's still dark out at 8am in December and January.
Time changing is stupid. I don't care which time we stick with, I'm fine with majority ruling, just stop switching.

I know someone who hates it more.
