Pizza: Neighborhood Pizzaria, Or National Chain?

Lord knows, there are enough national pizza chains to choke a whore, but a lot of the choking results from the blandness of the pizza. I will take a quality local pizzaria, where they take pride in their neighborhood as well as in their pie. I mean, Dominos, it’s prima facie cool that you can “drop a pin” for your pie delivery, but do not ask me to believe that delivery will show up any better than my Lyft driver who winds up “sorta” in the vicinity but still cannot read a fucking street sign. “Yeah, but, hey, man—THE PIN…” And your pizza still tastes like a troll’s ass.

Local for me, the whole way. Hand-tossed, hand-made, brick-fired, made with pride and ZERO gimmicks.

I’ve known for a long time that everyone in the Insurance business is going to hell when s/he dies. I’m thinking that fast-food execs are not too far behind.

You're in the Boston area, right? If you ever find yourself up on the North Shore, check out Bravo By The Sea.

Thank you, Padeen. I have The Square Deli Pizzaria 2 blocks down the street, developed by a former chef at The Four Seasons. All hand-made, impossibly delicious. They only just introduced their pies to the menu, which inspired this post. I agree that “if it’s delivered, it’s bad.” I will check out Bravo By the Sea. I love real paisano pizza, not the Americanized fast food.

Everett used to be the US city with the most pizzerias per capital in the country. Things have changed.

The phrase is 'PER CAPITA' best-selling author R_Kane.

Hey! no correcting the corrector!!!

Haha, for a self proclaimed published author who scolds others for typos and grammatical errors he's sloppier than almost anybody:)

You left out hypocrite.

was just informed of a neighborhood spot so gonna do that ths week

Local. There's a smattering good ( authentic ) pie to be had here, if you're willing to travel and go get it yourself.

If you just want some delivered, then you're stuck with chain garbage.

reply

Local. But every once in a while I will get a Dominos. They have coupons that make them a really good deal. My favorite coupon is a 5-topping large pizza for $11 (take-out only). It's just too good a deal pass up. And I freely confess I like Dominos pizza.

reply

Local. I’m not crazy about Pizza Hut, dominos etc last time I ordered domino’s I didn’t notice their large is everyone else’s medium. Which was just as well given it sucked.

reply

we have no neighborhood pizzerias only national and international chains

reply

Local. Definitely local. I think this is true for all food, locally made with zero marketing gimmicks.

I honestly can't think of a single food that is better prepared by a national chain.

reply

Chain food sucks. Period.
